  1. Adding to this - I started training with David in September when I was feeling really low, unfit and unmotivated and I didn't want a "military" type, I wanted someone encouraging and supportive and someone who understood fitness in your 40s which is different to when I was younger.

My fitness has totally changed - it's now become a habit that I really enjoy again and that's thanks to David!

  2. Writing up a recommendation for SG Soccer School in Brixton https://sgsport.co.uk/sg-soccer-school/

It's invitation only, following a free trial but I know that they are on the look out for more players from U6 - U11

Sessions take place Monday 5pm- 6.30pm at Ferndale Community Sports Centre (behind Morleys)

Standard is quite high. Coaching excellent.

Contact details on the SG Sport website / [email protected]

  3. Not every Sunday, they understand that families have lives outside of football but being in a team and playing competitive matches is really important to the club and actually the boys who seem incredibly proud of their training kit and their match kit and being in a league. Other clubs we looked out kicked out boys if they weren't committed to playing every Sunday which we found fairly tough.
  4. My sons play in with a local team Tulse Hill Juniors. It's an old South London club that stopped for a while and is now rebuilding its squad.

They train on Saturdays (10am-12, opposite the cafe in Dulwich Park) and play matches in the Tantridge League on a Sunday morning (their home matches are played on the Dulwich Prep pitches)

The club really needs to find more players. Today for example although they fielded 3x teams, the U9s played with 1 less player than their opposition and had no subs.

It's a friendly club - both kids and watching parents.

They are also looking for anyone who would like to be part of their coaching team.

Email [email protected] for more detail, or just come along on Saturday morning (stud boots, shin pads etc)

    Thx!

  5. Ours are at CC now. It's a great school. None seem to leave at 7+, although a few moved earlier to avoid the actual 7+ exam and got into Dulwich private schools. At 11+, a good number get into Alleyns, DC, Trinity and others. They have coaching but then even kids at prep schools seem to have coaching too.

We are really happy with Corpus - it's an excellent school and hard to get a place at.
