When negotiating, list your weaker grievances first, so they'll make quick concessions at no cost to your position. When they think they've conceded all they need to, start to hit them with the big stuff, one at a time, getting a concession each time.
  2. There won't be an iOS6 YouTube app available for several months on the iPad, although there is an iPhone one already available. As a replacement for the iPad, try Squrl, ShowYou or Vidyou which all provide access to YouTube content. Apple don't support rollback, and since major upgrades make firmware upgrades to tech drivers it's going to be a very unpleasant experience. I wouldn't try it myself.
  3. Not at all Parkdrive, I have clearly made the point that different people want different things, and not everyone is pursuing this issue with the same agenda nor same motivations. It is clear to me that anyone who wants every police officer at the event to be named, shamed and publically humiliated is not looking for justice, as this would manifestly not be just. I feel the greatest sympathy for people involved in this tragedy on both sides - nobody chose to be there, and I don't think we should be adding to the numbers of those whose lives have been destroyed. The issue of sensitivity is part of that equation - I have every obligation to be sensitive to those who have suffered, but I have no such obligation to be sensitive to those who have rationally decided to involve themselves within these events and be offended by proxy on behalf of those who have really suffered. Like rich kids visiting Malawi on a purportedly heart wrenching exercise in poverty tourism, how many of those sounding off on Hillsborough are indulging in tragedy tourism?
  4. The rules are clear that you need to include your trading address. Other forums have other rules.
  5. I think whether it's insensitive or not is moot. I'm certainly not trying to get a rise out of anyone. Now is a moment to find balance and perspective to identify a true form of justice for those directly involved. I hope that my views are held in that light, and more importantly I think that views such as mine are a critical contribution to the debate. This tribal mentality is frankly frightening, the wilful ignorance and rewriting of history by the fans is as grotesque as the adjusted police statements. The willingness of barely related individuals to leap on the retribution bandwagon for an incident that happened to people before they were born in a different social era is gratuitous. I find the current 'fan response' to be disproportionate. There has been no grand conspiracy of government, media and the authorities to target Liverpool. There has been human error, negligence, defensiveness and stupidity. Let he who is without sin on these cast the first stone, and let's apply that maxim first to the 'Liverpool faithful' singing about Munich shall we?
  6. Where was the post and what was it about? Most common reason for deletion or movement is if it was in one of the wrong sections, or failed to comply with another forum rule. For businesses and trades this is commonly because they didn't appear in business and trade, or they failed to provide the necessary trading addresses in ED, used capital letters, or spammed the forum with repeated boosts.
  7. "Huguenot, money, really? A deliberately provocative statement, if not, just pig ignorant." Knew you were looking for it. I think I've worked hard enough across the years not to be accused of being 'pig ignorant' unless you're looking for a fight. Look, enjoy yourself. The world isn't as simple or the people as simplistic as you'd like to make them.
  8. It was a general point about phones in use rather than the iPhone.
  9. It doesn't sound plausible. It sounds like another perspective on events that only has half the story and a quarter of the context. People not remember the Guardian ad from a few years ago? It offered two different perspectives on exactly the same event. Both perspectives were true, except that one had a skin head assaulting a businessman and stealing his bag, the other had him saving the businessman's life. The question is how two completely conflicting accounts could both be true? It was easy in the end: they both didn't have enough information to understand what they had ACTUALLY witnessed.
  10. I think it's clumsy to assume that events require a conspiracy when momentum is quite sufficient.
  11. Try telling a parent in the UK that their sickle cell kid in the UK will only have a life expectancy of 42 because uncleglen reckons they should sod off to Laos where most kids don't live that long because they don't have it.
  12. Well then, if that was the source then it's not a conspiracy is it? It was a Sheffield Press Agency. There's no need to apologise at all. If you wish to continue the conversation go ahead, despite Woodrot's frequent attempt to end threads on his terms, he has no mandate here.
  13. You may be unaware of the lottery of gene therapy, but I can assure you that it is the hope, note the word hope, that certain illnesses will not be passed on. Nature is, as you point out, an unreliable matchmaker. So the child, as you point out, is very much real and natural. Your logic that we should ban useful things on the basis that they may be misused is utterly illogical. I shan't grace your assertion by listing household objects that should be made illegal if used for dangerous purposes. Of course we don't ban them. I have often held that warfarin would be a better treatment for cantankerous elderly curmudgeons than toleration and indulgence. However, it seems it's use is banned for that purpose. So no silverfox, using gene therapy to cure horrific diseases is not the same as using it for cosmetics.
  14. Annasfield, I've just been through all the current summaries of the new findings, and I can find nothing that suggests a massive cross-institutional conspiracy of government and media with malicious intent. I can find plenty of examples of shocking and potentially criminal contributions to this tragedy, but nothing on the national scale that you claim. There seems to be an issue with proportion and perspective. It's responses like yours that make me think that there are those whose version of the Hillsborough tragedy is as much a rewriting of history as the those of the police officers who amended their evidence. As I've said before, there is no resolution or reconciliation in this approach. There is only vengeance and continued conflict. Every time I see your badge that says 'don't buy the sun' I am reminded of the peculiar conviction that of the tens of thousands smeared by this tabloid over the decades, Liverpool fans believe that theirs is the only complaint that actually counts.
  15. That's where you're making monumental leaps of imagination. People 'create' babies every day - choosing partners on their health, wealth, good looks or smell. They are fabricated and totally artificial, based on the selective pressures of popular fashion, anticipated skills or just whatever we can get as a passport to the next generation. We also have medicine, that destroys viruses and bacteria, and replaces good marrow with bad to cure leukaemia. These are all unnatural - a painful death and life expectancy of 30 years is the 'natural' lifespan. You may be too late too qualify for a heart transplant silverfox, but in your prime would you have rejected one on the basis it made you unnatural? I thought not. Yet despite this hypocrisy, there's no therapy in your simplistic mindset, only Frankenstein's monster.
  16. Truth seems secondary to vengeance in Margaret Aspinall's case then?
  17. I'm guessing that many of the extensions along the side return are so new the problem may not have surfaced yet. So I'm thinking that you have a two storey extensions is that right? Does the wall form part of the boundary between your two properties? I.e. is it a party wall? How does the glass extension of the neighbour's house work? Is it free standing? Connected to your wall? How is the space between the two properties usually cleaned? Cantilevered scaffolding is possible, but if it overhangs the neighbouring property you need their permission, and they may be unwilling to give it over a glass roof! Got any photos for clarity?
  18. I stand corrected. I asked my guys, and they reckon 1 in a 1,000 websites use Java, but 80% of browsers have it enabled! They only sites they could think of that use it are some of the MMORPG like Runescape or Minecraft. So the recommendation to everyone is to disable it, and only enable it if you find yourself in a sudden need for it.
  19. North Korea does a very nice line in kidnap and forced immigration. They've been known to torture local residents in order to force family members to return from overseas.
  20. I'm sure in your tremulous and poorly informed worldview such a thing is terrifying silverfox. The truth is that even you are genetically a multi-parent child. You are a splicing of the genes of your parents, who are a splicing of the genes of your grandparents and they of their forebears. In fact silverfox, you are a child of millions of parents and a hotch-potch of their genes. How terrified are you now? You want to cut off your arm? This 'three parent' baby is nothing more terrifying than correcting the mitochondrial genes of a 'broken' parental gene with those of a third party to prevent debilitating and heartbreaking disabilities. Only someone with a really nasty streak could try and prevent this to either a) prevent people with curable conditions from having babies or b) force people to live with lifetime debilitating diseases that could be cured. I trust you are neither of those silverfox.
  21. Mid week games seem to start around 1.30am London time on Monday nights or Thursday nights. However, Sunday games seem to start around 6.30pm-ish and 9.30pm-ish. So you'd probably need a small posse of NFL enthusiasts to petition Jamie no? I'm guessing he's not that full on Eunday nights after the Premier League.
  22. I wouldn't worry about it too much LM, tarot has form on this. S/he isn't all there and has a very short memory compounded by a severely limited attention span. Every now and then some trigger sets off tarot on this bizarre immigration tirade not unlike a demented dog barking like a broken record out in the back yard. The's no way to persuade tarot rationally, and even if you do make some headway tarot will kick off again a few weeks later repeating all the same stupid claims previously put to rest. In the empty ping pong ball that is tarot's consciousness, everything that creates anxiety is caused by foreigners.
  23. Do be aware that Java provides key functionality for a number of websites, mostly with interactive elements. Don't be surprised if they don't work now!
  24. You're making a massive leap there with 'the media and government helped them do it' - you're accusing people of a massive cross-institutional conspiracy with malicious intent. There's no evidence of any such thing, and there's no sense in escalating this into a national conspiracy to victimise Liverpool.
