  2. I noticed that one of the small changes to the ED to London Bridge timetable this week was that the 08.59 had morphed into the 09.00. No problem with that, but for the last three days it's been consistently late arriving at London Bridge - it's scheduled to arrive at 09.14, but has arrived at 09.23, 09.24 and 09.23 respectively (I didn't travel in on Monday, so don't know what the timing was like then). Yes, I'm sad enough to have noted it down... Apparently the problems have all been related to other trains, either coming in on the other lines and delaying the 09.00 or making it wait outside the station for a platform. My concern is that these delays might be 'timetabled in', so to speak. If this pattern repeats next week, I'll be firing off emails. Thank you for allowing me to vent.

  4. I walked down Danby St at about 2.30 this afternoon - there were eight spaces dotted along the road, and plenty in adjacent Copleston Road. Ironically, the last 100 yards of the road at the Bellenden Road end are in the Controlled Parking Zone, so if there has been an increase in parking pressure, the CPZ must be a significant factor. Of course, the council are happy with this, as they want those just outside a CPZ to press for it to be expanded. Mission creep, more cash in the coffers and little or no change to the existing parking pressures...

  8. 1. Danby St's in Peckham. 2. Has the "problem" become worse? 3. How many residents have cars compared to, say, ten or fifteen years ago? 4. Would you like to pay for the privilege of still not being able to park outside your house? 5. As Southwark does not yet have a Commissar of Parking, you could contact your local councillor, who might see the opportunity for a splendid wheeze to make the council lots of dosh without solving the "problem" in the slightest.

  12. Client pesters you with stroppy email: "I must have it by close of play Wednesday". It gets emailed well before "close of play Wednesday" (even though we're not playing cricket) and an automated out of office reply pings straight back: "xxxx xxxxxx is away on holiday from Tuesday 5.00pm until Friday 9.30am". Tw*t...
