  1. Hi I'm sure lots of parents out there will have a very similar experience. I went to the GP in the end as School was doing nothing, but the GP told me SENs diagnosis was the schools responsibility! including ADHD (which is bonkers in my opinion) the GP can put child on WL for Autistic assessment. WLs are ridiculous. You can get a private assessment for dyslexia for £650! I haven't yet done this but i did look into it. The centre is called the Helen Arkell Centre, I only know about them through various recommendations, but there might be other similar organisations. They are based in Farnham but also have London office, can't remember where. Check out the website. They can do the assessment online I think, They are non profit, it's still very expensive though, but you should get answers quickly. The School will need to liaise with them, there's alot of online forms to complete, but i have checked with Charter ED for example and they had confirmed in writing that they do recognise the findings of Helen Arkell Centre etc so you would in theory get funding through Southwark, well the school would, but your child would get extra help at school presumably. Seems like schools are struggling financially (like everyone else) and that's why they're not testing? apparently 1 in 10 of us have dyslexia! BTW there is a test the School can do, the LUCID test, which should flag up any major issues, you can request this test and a copy of the results. The School can not refuse this. This might be helpful. Good luck getting the support your son needs
  2. Quinny zapp buggy for sale ?35, you can attach maxi cosy car seat to frame and use from new born, we used this so much when ours were babies, also excellent for holidays as fold away into carry on case, picture supplied. Some wear and tear on foot rest area.
  3. I would like to recommend Glecio, he's a brilliant trainer, who works you really hard but is great fun aswell. Have a look at his website. Thanks Glecio
  4. I would also like to recommend the Spin Doctor. Fixed my tumble dryer and dish washer just before Christmas. Good value repairs and both now working perfectly. Thank you
  5. St faith's do bouncy castles outside, have been to a few kids parties there, Harris girls sch has bouncy castle aswell, but could just be indoors

  7. is Dulwich sports club, burbage rd having their fireworks/bonfire this year? you have to pay but it is a nice one.
  8. wanted someone qualified to remove a radiator, tomorrow ideally. Does anyone know how much this costs/ how long it should takes someone experienced? it can be left in the front garden.
  9. I've also got 1 child at st j and 1 starting in sept, would be happy to meet up if something is arranged, pls let me know.
  10. I don't think there will be any dent to the reputation of Little Jungle, it has thrived off word of mouth and everyone I know speaks so highly of it, it is a very nurturing environment for a young child/ baby if parents have to work, you're really unlucky if you don't manage to get a place and incredibly lucky if you do. But like most nurseries in East Dulwich and surrounding areas, spaces are very scare, especially mid week slots (but Mondays and Fridays spaces seem to be more easy to come by). Good luck finding somewhere you're happy with.
  11. we love it. such lovely teachers, great ptfa, lovely kids and parents, so happy we got our 1st choice.
  12. if anyone's child accidentally took them home we would love them back as they were brand new, bought from the airport on the way back from holiday yesterday.
  13. try Lanzarote Retreats maybe, we are going to one of their villa's in July this year, but they also do yurts which look brilliant, some friends went last year and had a great time. In September it could even be too hot though. I haven't been to lanzarote myself but it is supposed to be very beautiful indeed, if you stay away from the very touristy areas, this company only has places in the nice bits http://www.lanzaroteretreats.com/eco/eco-yurt/
