  1. Grand slam. Why not. Good tip Declan. It's funny how England are so optimistic after one win from three at home. A good team they are indeed but surely the jury is still out on Lancaster. Too early to say if he has added anything. Too much optimism over one win. But as usual I can't wait for the 6 nations, never disappoints. We have England in Dublin, just where we like them.
  2. I have a few quid on Ireland for the 6 nations already following their win over the Argies. I'm rarely wrong. England! Yer aving a laurf. Innit.
  3. For those (bozos) who posted their predictions twice. It would be interesting to see if there was much correlation between guess 1 and guess 2. :) As regards my top score this week, I can take the ridicule with the same charm as I shall exude when taking the title come May. Look out behind. I'm coming with a late run of form.
  4. It's certainly been a good year RD. Can't believe my luck really. Not much luck on the horses though.
  5. Oh Zebedee, what a good point. How lucky we are to have you to bring such rationality to this great debate. Take a bow.
  6. Yeah. Well done quids. We are all v pleased for you. Honest.
  7. He did. But I got nothing.
  8. Merry Christmas Declan. Chris Ashton......twonk.
  9. *Bob* Always admired Bob. But where I think he got something completely wrong here (and unfortunately many people agreed with him) was in suggesting that the objection to fois gras was somehow linked to the class or wealth of the fois gras consumer. Hence the fois gras supporters allow the thread to deviate into discussions on battery hens and fox hunting. It's not that at all. It's a case of those eating fois gras being responsible for keeping alive an industry that knowingly and purposefully inflicts pain on an animal daily, with the aim of making that animal ill enough for you to enjoy its diseased liver. For that, you should all be ashamed. (There is no get out clause available by reference to other animal mistreatments.)
  10. RD. What happened...?
  11. It's not enough just to say that those who don't like the practice of fois gras just should not buy it. Sometimes the more sensitive/enlightened have to campaign to protect the animal. If those who love fois gras despite the distress it causes to the bird, then lose out on their slightly selfish pleasure, then I'm afraid that's probably not going to win them a lot of sympathy. The world is changing. Slowly.
  12. Chelsea. Rafa seems to know what he's doing after all. 8-0.
  13. PS. Non force feed goose has just been delivered for Christmas lunch. Can't wait. :)
  14. Whilst it's nice to know the culinary options available in Mamora Road, none of the other foods listed are the result of animal mistreatment therefore I'm not sure of their relevance. As I said before I like foie gras but rarely eat it now, as I can't quite detach myself from the thought of the unnecessary cruelty whilst trying to enjoy it. As for killing an animal just to eat it, well these animals are bred for us to eat, they would not exist if they were not bred for food.
  15. Love Foie Gras, but only eat it very occaisionally now.
  16. I'd go for a Macallen if choosing for someone of whom I don't know of their particular taste. Or maybe Cardhu. I have just found a Speyside map: http://www.whiskyguild.com/whisky_distillery_speyside.htm

Surely they won't get that? Lots of bars were free last year.
  21. My wife has no job. And no ticket. But she did at least have time to queue up for a lost cause. I blame BlueRevolution.
