  2. Deesaster.....Hells Bells is right. Can't quite believe it. Must have been over confidence. And poor defending by all accounts. Can't see Rangers dropping points......if I wasn't going to Ireland to play golf for four days I think I'd cry...... Had the usual text from a Rangers friend. Supercaleygobalisticcelticareatrocious, thought I'd heard the end of that one.
  3. Leatherhead recently "won" the accolade of worst town in Britain. Dulwich is much nicer and should win.
  4. I don't Spurs are going to win the league now. I think my ?10 might be a gonner.
  5. David Weir - I think it is a bit pathetic to be in the match report. But DW probably was attention seeking, just a little bit.
  6. Who put you in charge? Go to bed.
  7. Rangers won 5-0 away today which is a great result for them. Puts lots of pressure on Celtic, who tomorrow atart their attempt to win 5 games in a row, but they know Rangers will probably win their games so no slip ups allowed. Its not often Celtic win 5 in a row, so could go either way, but a win over Dundee United tomorrow would help ease the tension as DU are a good side and a potential banana skin.
  8. Apparently Molin Contgomerie can be added to the list of people walking into this bar.

  10. An amazing performance. Spreadeagled the field. What it says about his Derby chances, who knows, he will have to adapt his style but he is class for sure. Left them all standing. Hes from Galileo so should have a mile and a half in him, but not at that speed for sure. Another great prospect though.
  11. 2000 Have backed Frankel and Pathfork. Frankel win would cover the cost of the Pathfork bet. Frankel is the obvious choice (I like him as he was one of our Newmarket jackpot winners last year) but is too short to risk much money on. Pathfork has won on GF ground already. Either of them win and I'd be happy.

It was Matt's implication that it was a one sided final that the weaker team won that threw me. Could not remember a final that quite fitted the bill.
  13. I think they are a good couple and I don't mind some taxes going towards a top wedding day. I don't see that the current royal family are guilty of very much at all. I won't be watching the wedding live though. I might catch the highlights later. I'm rather glad that someone can now replace Diana in the peoples affections. I never really saw what people admired her for and I think its great that William has chosen a "normal" person, which is a big break from tradition. I'm sure they will have a happier marriage than most recent royal couples.
  14. I like that Matt. Had to check who won in 1999. Of course who could forget. I had ?50 on Bayern that night, so I was probably the only person in the pub not happy. I only had the bet on because I did not think MU could win without their midfield, both Keane and Scholes. However they still managed to pull it off so credit where its due. Lothar Mattaus was a star performer that night but just ran out of legs about 10 mins from the end.
  15. If they were playing Bruges they would probably win though.
  16. Top goal by Messi last night. Mourinho spoiling tactics did not work this time. Should make for a good final with MU having "home" advantage.
  17. Gabby Logan. Well I never...
  18. Fair point Alan. I agree with you that he might have been better off not doing it but it would take an incredibly mature person to have shown no reaction at all given the abuse and also the result he had just achieved. Let's say he was chuffed to come away with a result given all that had happened recently.

  20. Penguin - do you consider yourself black or white?
  21. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The system is a bit shite, why can't you just buy > tickets... first come first served? Capitalist..... I have applied for the tennis final. Thats all I'm interested in and its not even a real olympic sport. I don't expect to get tickets, so its TV for me - or beach volleyball tickets from ebay nearer the time, just to get involved.

What he put up with during > > that game in chants from rangers fans, should > be > > addressed. You are missing the point (again). Rangers fans made an official complaint to police about being offended by Neil Lennon cupping his hand to his ear. Some Rangers fans must be easily offended. Neil Lennon did not make any complaint about the treatment by Rangers fans or say he was offended. Peter Lawell said it was laughable that Rangers fans would abuse Neil Lennon for 90 mins and then feign offence at him putting his hand to his ear. I agree with him. Neil Lennon is big enough to take verbal abuse all day long from Rangers fans. Its when it comes to threatening his family that he says it affects him, and of course it does, he openly admits this but continues in the job. The irony of a man being subjected to all levels of abuse, then being the subject of a complaint for cupping his hand to his ear is lost on noone. Unsurprisingly the Police have batted the complaint back and will focus their efforts on finding nail bombers. With the police, Celtic and Rangers will concentrate on eliminating sectarian abuse from matches. Then there will be no need for people to say the subjects of sectarian abuse bring this on themselves ( you SCSB ) or that making any response to these bigots is ill judged (Alan Medic). I don't normally respond to your posts but today I'll make an exception.

  25. No my original post was about how George Best helped make them the biggest club in the world by support, not the richest club. We were talking about people deciding to support the club, remember? Your points about money are not really relevant. It was Busbys team that first made them a global attraction generating worldwide fan interest. The Ferguson team built on that foundation.
