  1. I think tears were there. I have played in competitions myslelf, where I wanted to win so much that having messed it up you just want the world to end, but in golf you have to play through to the end. But Rory had to do it, live in front of the world. He will come back and i feel it part of the learning curve. His interview afterwards was gentlemanly. Hats off to him. Chris Evans talking up a celebratory party before Rory had hit a shot on the first tee, does not help the professional mood. What an arse.
  2. We are all going to die. Would you rather not have lived?
  3. Why ? The horses would not even exist if it was not for racing. they live like kings and run a handful of times a year.
  4. Had the winner for first time in a few years. And at 20s on betfair. B)

  6. Did not want him to feel bad. He is under enough pressure, poor lad.
  7. I think the "pep talk" I gave Rory when I met him in Dublin recently has done the trick. It basically went like this: "Hi Rory - I have money on you to win the Masters."
  8. An opening 65 for Rory. 3 more of those please. Good luck for tomorrow kid.
  9. Did anyone else get an invite? Want to share a cab?
  10. When Harry met Jose. Someone was the Real deal and someone was faking it.
  11. The important thing is to look smart but to be warm at the same time. Smart trousers and a jacket is good for winter/national hunt racing. It's not summer racing so there will be lots of green and brown Harris tweed combinations....... Jeans are probably allowed but are not smart. The happy people will be the warm people.
  12. I'm glad Danny baker is back which I assume means he has been treated successfully for his current cancer. But I have to say I have never liked him as a radio presenter. Never made me laugh that I van remember anyway.
  13. It was a good Saturday SP. Because Rangers could have gone top, but dropped the ball.
  14. Dulwich Park cafe is an absolute disgrace. Have never ever not had to queue for 10 mins. Many people only want to buy a hot drink. They could have a concession for coffee sitting alongside the cafe allowing the cafe to concentrate on food, but I guess Dulwich Estate would not allow this.

It was about United's ability to step up from a porr first half.
  17. United have a game like that every season. It shows Fergusons class I guess that he can turn them around at half time like that.
  18. Happy hammers. 2 pens to nil.

Very good performance. Hats off to Keef (No pun intended, it was a lovely hat..::o)
  20. Can't we make it a non moveable feast. Who is in charge here?
  21. That's brilliant, you could say "I'm here all week" after that. Except that you are not.
  22. Went to the England Ghana game on Tuesday night and though it was pretty good. England played well but quite an even game, great atmosphere for a friendly though. I think I preferred it that the big prima donna names were not present for England as I cannot see that thay would have been committed to the cause, whereas the younger guys made a great game of it. Good entertainment.

  24. Why don't we have a friday and monday bank holiday off at the same time each year, so we all know in advance when it will be and we don't have to ring a priest to find out when our days off will be. I have never understood why Christ's birth ("Christmas") is on the same day every year but his death ("Easter") moves every year. Some consistency, please.
