  1. No my original post was about how George Best helped make them the.biggest club in the world not the richest club.

A spokeswoman for the police said: "We can confirm we have received a complaint regarding Neil Lennon at the end of the Rangers-Celtic football match. Strathclyde Police officers were in attendance at the time and would have taken action at that time if they had deemed it appropriate." Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell said: "It is absolute nonsense. "It is laughable that such a ludicrous complaint has been made given the abuse Neil received throughout the match.

From Wikipedia; "The core strength of Manchester United's global brand is often attributed to Matt Busby's rebuilding of the team and subsequent success following the Munich air disaster, which drew worldwide acclaim. [83] The "iconic" team included Bobby Charlton and Nobby Stiles (members of England's World Cup winning team), Denis Law and George Best. The attacking style of play adopted by this team (in contrast to the defensive-minded "catenaccio" approach favoured by the leading Italian teams of the era) "captured the imagination of the English footballing public". [90] Busby's team also became associated with the liberalisation of Western society during the 1960s; George Best, known as the "fifth Beatle" for his iconic haircut, was the first footballer to significantly develop an off-the-field media profile." As for your comparison between Gascoigne and Best. Just look at what they achieved. Best won a European Cup, 2 League titles and European player of the year. Gazza won none of these and went to Scotland for an easy time.
  4. Could be Schalke 04 United if they keep this up.

  6. Djkq. She would not be alone in beginning to support MU because of seeing George Best. This man was probably the biggest single player responsible for making them the best supported club in world football. So if you criticise LM you criticise many many others.

You will be relieved to know Mockers that this only happens on the 1st pregnancy. On subsequent pregnancies you would need a babysitter and ?35 for a glass of wine/babysitter combo is too much for most people. Best just to say you are popping out for a pint of milk next time round.
  9. Greasy chip butty song is good, I agree. Went to a Sheffield United game with a mate once and its was a great laugh.
  10. I don't mind the ?4, its the 10p that kills me. This means 90p of heavy change. After 10 pints and ?9 worth of heavy change, I can barely get myself home.

  12. Yes I can answer that for you smart arse. Good away draw for the hoops today. It's in our hands. 5 wins in a row needed for the title.
  13. You are way off the mark here Huguenot imo. The poster was innocent. It advertised a Governors meeting with parents. David Moyle was a new Governor and the poster most likely reflected the pressure David Moyle was expecting to feel from demanding parents. The head teacher's position was not even relevant to the poster and I cannot see how any calm and rational person would have come to the conclusion that this was anything to do with her.

However he is a tough guy and a winner and his experience will be crucial tomorrow against Lennons relative inexperience. Walter loves the old firm games. Noone likes sectarianism and its worse this week than ever unfortunately.
  15. Think football Jah. It's as good as it gets. All that pressure in 90 mins. Celtics class to win through.
  16. Big one today. Cmon the Hoops. Celtic in my opinion the best team but today they have to earn it. All the pressure on the club the players and manager will ease if they can win today. Chris Commons and the Hooperman to grab the goals. Rangers are brilliantly resilient so even a draw would be good for the Hoops. game on.
  17. Easy tiger. And the Fields of Athenry ? .....
  18. Celtic fans lead the way and Liverpool fans follow.....[as it always was] Just Can't Get Enough....
  19. I know peterluger has a great reputation but when I went to NY he only was in brooklyn. So went to Wolfgangs on Park Avenue. It's the best steak I have ever had bar none. its in Donald Trumps top 5 best NY restaurants. Would also recommend McSorleys ale house for a beer as mentioned by Mr Ben.
  20. Charlotte. Are you for real?
  21. I don't get private messages.
  22. Denis Law is relegation man to United Fans.... Charlotte. I like you assuming your Scottish team is Celtic.
  23. Especially since you have killa in your name.

  25. I was hoping to win big on Rory, but having learned the art of hedging I picked Schwartzel as the main threat - and got a big win. Great betting weekend. Mrs Mac can buy Mrs Quids coffee again.
