Too many people saying sensible things. Thats what killed it. Not enough daizies in the grass.

Good to hear your communications from China, Tina. Travel always sounds so glamourous but nice to know you miss home. I had a week off recently and it was really nice just to stay in ED and sample the coffee shops and restaurants. Stress free time off is very underrated.

Our square plates arrived yesterday. Slightly rounded edges - perfect.

I used to know a couple of people - one was called Jah Lush and another was called Quids. Very strange.

If it requires a majority vote of no confidence in the government then is there anything to prevent the two staying together. Vince Cable is the one in the spotlight now after announcing a higher CGT rate and possibly a bank levy too, the whole City will potentially be up in arms. That's the most likely thing that will bring this coalition down, if he is castigated and its generally seen that the Tories would be better without him and Clegg. The Tories then call a general election as they think they can win a clear majority, after all who is going to vote Lib Dem ever again if you are really voting Tory? Increased majority for the Tories will follow next time.

It was a long wait the last time. The economy will eventually improve despite current doom and gloom and its hard to win an election if you are in opposition when the economy eventually picks up a head of steam.

Queenie - I warn you, I have shagged 11 Prime Ministers so far Dave and I expect you to "put out" young man.

Tony - I'll be honest - I don't think you have any chance whatsoever of a response to this from the people its addressed to - but try a PM to James Barber. -
*Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Well, ok, it is symmetrical, but only on one axis. Bob - why don't you just edit your first post, rather than just conversing with yourself on this thread. :) Is there a bottle of whisky and a mirror in your vacinity by any chance.

US Sub prime, US sub prime, US sub prime, Michael. That's what caused the UK banks to go bust. Sub Prime was US debt illegally sold on to us. The world picked up their debt and said nothing when it went bad. The world suffered a major recession - you can't hang the world recession on GB/Labour. The person in the street will most likely profit from its investment in the banks. -
Wot a posh mess.

Got died on a cross Bob - he was a big fan of symmetry.

I think you need the Drawing Room to keep this on topic, or a Private Message to JB for that Tony Q. I'd suggest the people you are addressing are a little tired after endless electioneering. It will be interesting to see the extent of their activity on the Forum, now the election is over though. -
I don't believe in got, Bob. Who he?

Obama - "Hey Dude - Well done, you smarmy barsteward...." Dave - Well hello Bollocks - It takes one to know one, "matey"...." End of call. Those two could talk some smarm between them. Lets hope they never get together.

No - we are intending putting them on a square table. Not sure I see the point of circle plates? Can you think of a good reason why they might be a better idea?

I > just have a different take on things. > > Perhaps it has something to do with me being too > young (and not even in the country) to practically > have experienced real life in the country > pre-Labour. I do think that Labour did a good job overall Brendan. 1) I'm not sure they lied to us more than any other party. The Iraq war was probably immoral but oil is gold and I would imagine it was a strategic war. Not very fair but it is possible that we could have been held to ransome by the middle east in the future if we did not have a foothold there- I think Blair and Bush saw their opportunity and, who knows, our decendents may appreciate it more than us. 2) I'm not sure they eroded our liberties - I don't feel mine have been eroded in the last 13 years. They have had to protect us from a potential terrorist threat from outside the UK. (I do feel my rights were eroded under the Tories as a resident of Northern Ireland at the time, but noone gave a shit - now it seems any erosion of liberties is big news). 3) "arsefucking the economy" - I know a lot of people agree with you but I always felt the sub prime caused the crash, although the consequences were excaserbated by our own banks lending / greed. Noone can deny GB did well to recover the economy. But overall it was time for a change - I do feel this will be a fairer Tory government than the Thatcher one. The Thatcher one had a job to do as Labour had - in the 1970s - really, really "arsefucked the economy". I did not vote partly because I could not decide - but I'm ok with the Tories getting in.
