What's gone wrong today Rosie? -
Driving without a taxed car..... Not sure it makes any sense grammatically Katie - just a little jibe at Quids ;-)

You watched that game through rose tinted specs Jah.

Whoops - I meant Quids - not Jah. Quids is annoying me, which I know he wants to. Jah is not - I don't mind Spurs - I don't really mind any team - we all have our good days and bad days as football fans, we have to enjoy the good ones. Hats off to Spurs, they are really strong under sandbanks arry.

Bitter, moi? ;-) I don't know the reason for not getting a proper width space. But sometimes it is a lamppost or a speedbump nearby. Have you tried a brown envelope? I once asked the guys from the council, who had come to pick up a few old scrap doors for us, to take away some other bits as well. This guy stood and looked at me for so long I thought he was either deaf or dumb or both. Until my mate said "he wants a tip". I gave the guy a tenner, he still looked at me and said nothing - I gave him another tenner - then he opened his mouth and said "of course sir - no problem".

I'm not an Arsenal fan - but I do find them the most interesting team in the league. They are beautiful and frustrating. Spurs are a team on the up and a team I always liked growing up. They always played good football compared to boring Arsenal. That's part of Spurs' history. The difference in style is not so obvious now. But tonights game was one of the best games I have seen this season (but I don't see many to be honest). It was brilliantly intense.

For me Sol Campbell was fantastic and england could do worse than to take him to the world cup.

Great game of football. Arsenal are going to win nout and thats what they deserve. They dont know where the goal is. Van persie showed them how to do it and gomez was immense with 3 great saves but arsenal left it too late to begin to get efforts on goal. Well done spurs but a season of might have beens for arsenal.

In some areas of london you will prob pay close to ?900 for an annual parking permit just to park outside your house. So as a one off charge the kerb lowering and white line is good value. Its also really safe to get the kids in the car rather than on a busy road so def a good investment for those with families.

Was that a rude one Quids?

We did it a few years ago and yes that's about what it costs. It seems cheap to me as you get permanent free parking outside your house and noone can block the way. Would you expect them to take away a part of the road and pavement from the general public and allocate it to you without charging you?

Boris seems to give the old version the thumbs up - but I prefer the new one.

She told me - she had a filty laugh too. She didn't really feign embarrasment - I was doing her a favour with that line. She looooveed it. She ran after the van down the street - but they got away.

I once had a female assistant - She could look a bit filthy sometimes, but as her boss I very professionally kept my distance. But I was walking to the pub with her one Friday lunchtime and a bloke leaned out of the window of a passing white van and shouted: "You don't even wanna fink about what I wanna do to you, love......" I thought - that's disgusting - she loved it though, she was beaming and feigning embarrassment. She was from Essex.

Thought the OP was a bit OTT - just let people do it how they want to do it surely. Having said that, along similar lines, I don't like it when people quote a lengthy post and than just say that they agree with it. No value added and also it takes a hell of a long time on my little phone to scroll down through a long post, and as I'm sometimes trying to wind down on the way home from work, it irritates me a bit.....just a bit though.

I'm wondering how to get my lawn free of little bumps. This is keeping me from my work at the moment. Its possibly the most important thing in my life. 2010 is the year when my lawn will come of age. No child shall set foot on it. Helicopters will be supplied to take children from garden gate to the climbing frame at the other end of the garden (journey of 40ft). I don't have a roller so I spent yesterday dropping this huge paving slab on the lawn from front to back - this seems to have helped a little. I think it will be impossible to cut the grass really short unless its completley bump free - how is this best achieved David?... Also I'm ready to buy a new mower - I have a bosch electric rotary one which has been fine but people tell me if you want a really good cut you should go for a clinder mower, even a push one? is this true? Unfortunatley I missed the Forum drinks on Friday when apparently all lawn issues were discussed in great detail so I was disappointed to miss that. Instead I watched the Masters where I just got more jealous of others achieving green perfection. On the upside my lawn is looking much greener, but still bumpy. Help...
