Right - I'm off to do some gardening.......I'll check but the garden looks Good to Firm to me.
  3. RD - at least you do not have Atila's endless jibes to put up with - Its generally much nicer on this thread now.
  4. Festival Bloodbath for Punters.....the headline in one of today's papers. I have decided that the the form book goes out the window and its because all of the form is on soft ground over the winter and at Cheltenham they tend to run on good ground. So last night I picked out horses who have won on good ground. THEN - On the Morning Line they show me that that have changed the course from yesterday and are running on a new strip of turf AND have watered the course too! So its now Good to Soft, soft in places. Best laid plans eh.
  5. Guess what - I'm off work tomorrow to do gardening and hopefully betting as little as possible - wish I had done the same today.
  6. I had acquired one of these hats by 1.30 pm today. Given that Mulligans said Diageo only gave them 10 hats this year I was pleased with my quick work.
  7. Sanctuaire was the winning favourite to go for in the 2nd last RD - but it did not quite get me out of jail. Although it certainly helped cheer me up. Def feeling a lack of cofidence going into the last 2 days though. Great week for the bookies so far I'd guess.

  9. The Duke of Wellington apparently said "if a man is born in a stable does that make him a horse" when people tried to suggest he was Irish.

I assumed house was intended to mean "a property". Anyway the point is that ?300k (and whatever you can get for that) is a more appropriate starting point for a first time buyer than the ?500k used in your example.
  11. 4/1 winner with Ruby on Sanctuaire - but again down overall for the day.
  12. Oooh Oooh. Need the Master to do the business..... And he didn't...:(
  13. Bookies can be good fun but I have uploaded the Ladbrokes App thing to my mobile and can now happily bet away as my hearts content. Bit too easy to lose money really.

  15. Masterminded was 4/11 when he won last year. Looks good odds this year at 5/6 or 10/11. Might be a better banker than Kauto with no recognised competitor (unlike kauto who has Denman as an obvious challenger).

Isn't a first time purchase more likely to be in the 300k ballpark (eg a 2 bed flat) 15% deposit ?45k (saved or more likely borrowed from parents). A couple with 2 salaries of average ?40k and a mortgage of ?250ish - which at current interest rates would be easily affordable on these salaries. Renting the same space may be slightly cheaper but you get no capital growth with renting.

  22. I have told Betfair what you said but they refuse to pay up until after the race. Apparently your decision is not final.
