  1. Good clip Matt - some good memories - I was a Liverpool fan then (yep Liverpool that week Jah) and Kevin Keegan was my first footballing hero. All those Liverpool players became household names. Liked George Best's comments - little did he know the same team would win the European Cup the following year - (Like Mourinho's Porto team did in 2003 and 2004).

We have the right to expect all drugs to have been properly tested and once there risks are highlighted for those drugs to be taken off market until the contentious issues are resolved. We should expect drug companies to be prudent and conservative, not to push drugs upon needy people despite highlighted dangers. As for newspapers and plumbers I don't see that errors in these areas have similar impact. Its very important for us to be able to expect our medicines to be safe.

I believe hagler liked luxury as much as the next man but when it came to preparation for a big fight his training camp was a very basic set up to get him in the right mind set.
  4. New year and a new betting budget :)
  5. Who is afraid of the BBW? Well done Wolfie. World Champion.
  6. The darts is great stuff - was 3-0 to wolfie but now 4-4......:(
  7. cheers SP for the opportunity to mention that those 134000 would see the mighty celtic beat the english champions. Steins team beat revie's team home AND away and would reach the european cup final only to lose to feyenoord. Don Revie - Your boys took one hell of a beating....
  8. Cmon Wolfie - get it on.....
  9. I usually think its the end of a boxer when he trains in plush surroundings. I remember when Hagler was champion he used to lock himself away in a run down makeshift gym in the middle of nowhere, away from media and hangers on - to keep himself hungry. Seemed to work for him.
  10. I did look closely and for me it was the left shoulder that made the initial contact. But agree to disagree. I would agree the title you gave to the link tho - Josh Lewsey is a tough customer and if you are going to get involved in handbags you had better look out for the rest of the game.
  11. You said - "For 18 months........the best british fighter of perhaps all time" - Apologies if I misunderstood - as I say I admit I don't know much about boxing, but found the lists interesting nontheless.
  12. Ipswich backed in play when winning 1-0 and odds just better than evens. Ipswich on a reasonable run, would hope they could see it through. Hmmm - Leicester equalise...booo
  13. Best british fighter of all time Naseem Haamed? - thats quite a statement. I don't know much about boxing to be honest but if asked would ahve said Ken Buchanan. I then found these lists from KO Magazine and Ring Magazine: Hamed is not in the top 10 in either but 11th in one. Buchanen is in the top 10 of both lists. Ko Magazines Top 20 British fighters - 1. Lennox Lewis 2. Jimmy Wilde 3. Jim Driscoll 4. Freddy Welsh 5. Ted "Kid" Lewis 6. Ken Buchanan 7. Randolph Turpin 8. Benny Lynch 9. Owen Moran 10. John Conteh 11. Naseem Hamed 12. John H. Stracey 13. Peter Kane 14. Herol Graham 15. Chris Eubank 16. Nigel Benn 17. Howard Winstone 18. Alan Minter 19. Jim Watt 20. Freddie Mills ---------------------- The Ring Magazines Top 10 of All-time. (Abit more upto date) 1. Jimmy Wilde (137-5-2, 99 KOs; 1910-23): One of biggest punchers pound-for-pound ever 2. Ted ?Kid? Lewis (232-44-24, 80 KOs; 1909-29): Second greatest Jewish fighter after Benny Leonard 3. Jackie ?Kid? Berg (157-26-9, 61 KOs; 1924-45): Fought and beat many of America?s best 4. Joe Calzghe (46-0, 32 KOs; 1993-present): Perfect record is impressive but had few meaningful victories 5. Jim Driscoll (63-4-6, 39 KOs; 1901-19): Went 3-0 against the great George Dixon and beat Abe Attell 6. Benny Lynch (81-12-15, 34 KOs; 1931-3: Alcoholism curtailed his career and life 7. Ken Buchanan (61-8, 27 KOs; 1965-82): Had misfortune of being a contemporary of Roberto Duran 8. Lennox Lewis (41-2-1, 32 KOs; 1989-2003): Greatest British heavyweight of all-time 9. Owen Moran (65-19-8, 19 KOs; 1900-16): Had wars with some of the best little men ever 10. Randy Turpin (66-8-1, 45 KOs; 1946-64): Only the second man to beat the great Sugar Ray Robinson.

BN5 - that looked like a suspiciously illegal tackle to me - leading with the shoulder? No attempt to get the leading arm round the opposing player? Dirty basterd...
  15. I looked at this after the forum drinks(3am) and had not got the first clue what it was. Now I can see again, its a remarkable photo.
  16. Backed Wolfie Adams to win the darts. Don't even know who he's playing so no expertise used - he just looked good in the semi final tonight. Odds just better than evens.

  19. Hats off to you Modelman as regards your general outlook on life etc. I have always found sainsburys staff to be helpful, irrespective of earnings. I think what your training or lack of it shows is that Sainsburys are not prepared for this type of eventuality, however rare it may occur. If there is a plan it was not it seems communicated to staff. Its not a case of expecting shelf stackers or cleaning staff to know how to deal with an unexpected threatening incident. Sainsburys should have a general policy of how to protect staff and customers in these situations. This plan would be actioned by store managment if a disturbance occurs. It sounds from your limited training that you were not advised of any policy and this seems to be evidence that the company does not have any planned method to deal with this type of situation. I think customers expect that big institutions would have a policy to deal with unexpected scenarios.
  20. Toga to remain in the African Nations Cup competition (rumour)

Little ugly guy ::o in a baseball top - do you remember?
  22. Nice to see the new Dad, Chris (Weegee) being allowed out for a beer tonight. And good luck MP for when it all happens.
  23. Just home. I left Daizie and LM chatting to some famous guy in the Bishop....they did not know him, but I think he was famous ?
