  1. I don't think I'll make it in the end, Karaoke has given me conjunctivitis and not only do I feel like crap I look like I've been punched in the face. :'( Just before the weekend too, most unkind. Have fun everyone
  2. ouch. Afraid I won't be able to make this in the end, in for the next one though Enjoy!
  3. hee! great time had by all. Think I pissed off the Welsh and the Irish by shouting for both sides, but such a good game! Crazy Welsh bod in a crombie wasn't happy though - f'ing and blinding even when the game was over, ooh err.
  4. Is the EDT on Goose Green? My folks are visiting for the weekend and the mother has asked to watch the rugby on saturday aaaand the football on sunday! what's the bloody point of coming to london to do that, I ask you!? I might cave and let her watch it, EDT sounds good as long as no-one objects to my bringing the folks along (they're good fun, no need to mind ps and qs or all that)
  5. I'd certainly agree with that, the more practice you get the better! Worried they're all going to be short now though, being tall and in love with my high heels that would not go down well. Decided to bite the bullet and do it, found a guy on there I randomly bumped into in Iran just a few weeks ago! Small cyber world indeed!;-)
  6. Congrats Buggy, good news stories are always welcome! Most of the people I've spoken to about it seem to consider it totally normal, maybe I'm missing out. I think it depends on why/how you use it - I'll admit to checking out the competition and the majority of women use the word marriage within the first few sentences (some men do too, so I'm not going to stereotype). Being new to London I thought it would be a good way to meet likeminded people, and am not pinning any hopes of my soul mate being somewhere in cyberspace. Applespider, I think you make a very valid point about the spark, a friend told me a nightmare story about a guy her flatmate had been chatting to online for a few months and thought he was amazing. When they finally met he wasn't at all what she'd been expecting and she cried for days! The dangers of photoshop!
  7. Answers on a postcard please, is online dating the new social medium for meeting cool, hip Londoners or a one way train to sads-ville, next stop desperate town? Lots of my friends consider it relatively normal, maybe it's my small town mentality that makes me struggle somewhat with the concept, seems a bit like airing your dirty laundry. Interested in your thoughts, and any personal experiences if I may be so bold. S'all about the love
  8. I'm in, probably be there from about 5 given the week I've had. If there's a redheaded heap on the floor by the time you guys get there gimme a nudge would you?! :)-D
  9. Great evening, much fun had by all despite a few minor glitches. Who knew chilli beef could do such a good monk fish impersonation?? (MP lemme know if I need to settle up with you) See ya at the next one: love Thai, love love love Vietnamese, I'll be one happy Nichi!
  10. oof this is right next to my house so I have no excuse, not far to stumble. I'd like to attend a forum night and actually remember it, 2 out of 2 so far - I fear I'm not making a good impression :-S
  11. RosieH I had a long term relationship with a Tory who tetered on the brink of fascism from time to time, but he was extremely hot - even with his spotted braces and matching handkerchief! We were together for almost 2 years and had some of the best arguments ever, but you know what comes after those... ;-) (Edited to say no pun intended!)
  12. I've just had the exact same problem and I did what bignumber5 said, that did the trick. Go to file>add folder to library and select the relevant top folder, all the subfolders will automatically follow so you don;t have to do track by track. You might also have to authorise your new computer to play the tracks, certainly if you've purchased any from the iTunes store. It will prompt you to do this if it needs to.
  13. I'll be there about 8:30ish,hoping to recruit my flatmate too. For those of you plucking up the courage to come along just do it - I'm a newbie too (only done one drinks so far and that was a while ago) so we can hide behind each other! :)-D
  14. I managed to fall over before the snow even made an appearance - I was running round Peckham Rye and tripped over my own big feet! I'd been to spin class the day before so my excuse is that my knees were wobbly - didn't stop me looking like a complete t*sser as I went arse over tit in the middle of the street! ::o I totally grazed my right knee and the heels of my hands and still look like I've been fighting in the playground almost 2 weeks later :-$
  15. I posted this on another thread, but it's actually more appropriate here, so at the risk of repeating myself: I had a great day! I walked all the way to work (Westminster) and back in my funky new wellie boots and saw many a heart warming sight on my travels - complete strangers actually stopping me in the street for a chat (I was initially suspicious they wanted to mug me for my wellies)and there were snowmen and igloos everywhere, winter wonderland! It made me truly happy inside to see a young guy in Camberwell vault a fence to help out a little girl who was struggling to put the head back on her snowman - it had fallen off an she was too small to lift it as it was a truly mammoth snowman! Loved the vibe on the street, all very convivial - just needed some one to start selling vin chaud and we'd be sorted!
  16. According to their website "the earth literally moves for you every 7-12 minutes" It's got my vote!
  17. ah now I feel pressured into posting :oP sorry for the neglect, my computer gave in to the blue screen of death on saturday so I'm a bit incommunicado at the moment :o( I was sooooo pissed, woke up the next afternoon (ahem) with that sinking feeling! Say what I will about pubs painted black (and it's all true) but when it's ?2 a pint you can't really knock it! Was indeed a great night and really good to meet you all, I would like to put together some witty anecdotes from the evening but I'm not sure I can remember much - I do recall lots of men without full sets of teeth though (not all were foprumites!) and a great rendition of Living on a Prayer which I was too Newbie to join in. I shall look forward to the next round (and I think I owe a few) 9th it is! p.s any computer techies out there who'd know how to ressucitate a pink laptop??
  18. Evening peeps, I'm new to East Dulwich, and South London in general. Be great to meet some local folk, if only to prove to my North London mates that we don't all have three heads down here..Is this an open invite, and if so should I wear a pink carnation or will the flaming red hair suffice?
