  1. Citizens of Dulwich. I am at my wit's end and I have contributed to the main dog story doing the rounds at the moment but I think it's time we worked out a strategy of how to cope with the mounting levels of dog deposits on our pavements. As I'm sure you are all aware, it's filthy out there....reminds me of Paris a decade or so ago. The occasional dog deposit is neither here nor there but what I am seeing on an almost daily basis is crap in the middle of the narrow pavement. Owners obviously don't give a monkey's about any of their responsibilities. Now what the hell can we do to clean up our pavements? Please all join me in writing a short missive to the council urging action. https://securesite.southwark.gov.uk/ShowForm.asp?fm_fid=273
  2. I have to say that the funny stuff on this thread is as good as any I have read on this forum. But Colin, yes it's a serious issue....Dulwich is infested with mice and God forbid that their uglier forebears make inroads too.
  3. Tell us the address and we'll all descend this evening to check it out.

Nothing is going to happen unless you complain. This forum should not just be a talking shop, it should be a means to action. Mobilise!
  5. Me too....I find it quite eerie. Whoever hears it, please do call the police. Anonymously if you have to. Peace of mind at least my peace of mind having read this thread.
  6. It is great, yes, no need to apologise. I have no idea who killed Archie, suspect it's going to be Jack or Stacey. But the last line in Friday's live episode will be "Hello Mum". The words will be spoken by one Ross Kemp aka Grant.
  7. Unfortunately FM I do get involved when I can on general things but struggle with telling dog owners to sort it out cos their dogs scare the bejesus out of me.
  8. At the end of the day, you dog owners are responsible for the behaviour and actions of your dogs. If you spot a dog owner with their mad dog loose, say something, if you see a dog owner with the mad dog shi***** all over the place and leaving it there, tell em to pick it up. I am not going to apologise for my antipathy towards dogs and their owners. Dog owners, sort it out!
  9. Louisiana, that is brilliant forensics. Louisa you have been shamed I think.
  10. I think the consensus is to ignore it. In fact I just bumped into a traffic warden and asked him what to do. He just laughed and said forget it. Once DVLA says it's not the car they think it is, they will just bin it, even though they have a photo, which is only supporting evidence apparently. BTW Hal9000, can you please explain to me what "Without Prejudice save as to costs" means? Thanks all for your posts.
  11. Citizens of Dulwich, I got a penalty charge notice in the badlands of Clapham earlier even though I had a pay and display ticket....I am sure I was parked in an area non-residents could park. Anyway, after effing and blinding I saw that the muppet had typed out my registration number incorrectly. The Which website says this error makes the ticket null and void. What to do? Does anyone know if that is correct? Unfortunately, Which does not say what to do? Write to the council telling them the error or just leaving it? Was thinking of writing to Lambeth council without stating my real name nor my address, with said pay and display ticket attached. Any legal advice would be welcome.
  12. That is a good start Mr Barber. I think these sort of measures should be taken with all roads leading up to both Barry Road and Lorship Lane....many spots with bad sight lines. Goodrich and Lordship and Uplands and Barry to name but two!
  13. Charlie, I was going to come to the backgammon tonight but did not know it was a front for the local branch of "These Tories". Scumbag of the year is David Cameron, who will go down in history as the man who lost a 20 point lead in the polls to one of the most, if not the most, psychologically-flawed PMs in history.
  14. That was the question wasn't it Jah.....but if anyone is interested I have the oldest Nokia in Dulwich and it's a great machine to talk through and if I fancy it I may be able to send the occasional text. Bloody brilliant it is.
  15. I do not have an iphone.
  16. I agree with you wholeheartedly FM (can i call you FM?). I do think that it's up to you responsible dog owners to do your best to make the selfish few more considerate. But even then I don't hold up much hope that they will mend their ways.
  17. I am sure that most dog owners believe they are responsible and am equally sure that most actually are, but my experience in Dulwich has been fairly depressing. On our road, there are three dog owners. Two of the dogs are pit bulls/staffs, the other is a friendly little lab. The two owners of the pit bull/staffs rarely have them on the lede and let them defecate wherever they find---there's only so much dog pooh you can step on! So excuse me for thinking that standards have fallen. Pit bull/staff owners are more and more prevalent around the land not because the owners love dogs, but because of the hard-man status that is attached to them by ownership. I'm sorry for growing increasingly angry at dog owners but standards have fallen and the clear implication of this thread is that the attack by the said dog is not the first, and sadly will not be the last.
  18. This is very disturbing but typical of so many dog-owners it seems at the moment. This penchance for pit bulls is potentially putting little people at risk let alone other dogs. Report this man to the police - people seem to know who he is. There is legislation that can be used against him.
  19. I did on the above note...said the youtube clip was not my creation, but that having stumbled upon it hoped it may brighten up the minutes before long-suffering commuters have to try to get home on time.
  20. It's not a duplicate thread, but here it is again And then please sign petition http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/FirstCC/ It's not my creation but thought it would brighten up the days of all the long-suffering First Crapital Connect victims.
  21. After watching, please sign petition. http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/FirstCC/
  22. Just to let you know that First Crapital Connect, knowing they are in a fight for their very existence, are offering customers a full 5% refund for their shoddy service over the last few months. Check their website for details, unfortunately it doesn't seem that people who use Oyster will be eligible. Tessa, when are you going to be down at Denmark Hill? And for those of you who haven't signed, here's the petition once again.... http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/FirstCC/ Nearly 5,000 signatories, keep em coming!
  23. Can you let me when Tessa will be at Denmark Hill station and I will come and say hi....I usually get the 0826 GMT, but if you let me know when Tessa will likely to be there will come extra early! In the meantime, thanks so much for recognising how much of a concern this is to many of your constituents. It's a basic right in London to have a transport system that works and by hook or by crook, most of London's does. I also urge those coming late to this discussion to sign the following petition... http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/FirstCC/

Taking the mick of someone who has suffered an ordeal like that is really below the belt. You were sir, may I presume, attempting to make a social comment using the medium of sarcasm. You failed and frankly should be ashamed of yourself. A pathetic post.
  25. This is the power of forums like this and people mobilising for change for the good of the community. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/b2d3dd18-0606-11df-8c97... And if you haven't signed the petition, please do with following link. http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/FirstCC/ Hopefully we can all say soon. FCC RIP!
