I'm afraid you are off your rocker Rosie......the Question Time audience has always been like this! So what did you expect?
-
Suddenly I am a fan of Robert Elms....I ate dogs too, or at least the ones that deposit all over Dulwich, but that's another thread!
-
Mmmmm....I don't have a map, I just worked it out. Basically wherever you are in Dulwich, go down to Peckham Pulse. I would go down Fenwich Road off East Dulwich Road and take the roads parallel to Rye Lane; turn right at Blenheim Grove to join Rye Lane; go down Rye Lane, cross to Peckham Pulse, and then cycle along Surrey Canal all the way to the end; turn right at the end and go down Glengall Avenue; at lights cross Old or is it New Kent Road along Mawbrey Road, turn right and right again until you hit Lynton Road; cross Lynton Road onto Willow Walk, all the way to the end, turn right, then left onto Grange Road, and then follow road round until you hit Bermondsey Street, go all the way down until you hit Tooley Street, follow that and you're at London Bridge. There are short cuts even within this route, best if you work out what you're comfortable with!

Not a good link for me......too many main roads.

Baker's Saturday morning show on 5 Live has to rank as one of the greatest radio shows I have ever heard. Almost worth the license fee on its own....red or brown sauce?
-
Best route by far.....cycle down to Peckham Pulse, cycle along the Surrey Canal, go towards Bermondsey, cross at London Bridge, go up towards Old Street and then head along towards Farringdon etc. This route may be longer but it has the advantage of missing out horrid and dangerous junctions like Elephant & Castle...in fact once you learn the backstreets, you won't hit a main road until London Bridge.
-
Yes, but we must get to the bottom of this.....this, I'm afraid, is Twilight Zone posting. Did you go down to Brixton earlier to purchase some herbs?

The Lord Palmerston, the Magdala, the Foresters Arms, the Hamlet Inn.............

Incident on Peckham Rye/Nunhead (hit while cycling)

Terrible development......linking in with another recent thread, I hope you informed the police. I know it probably won't achieve anything but it's the right thing to do. -
Steveo, did you intend this for this site or was that meant to be a tweet?

Aldeburgh in Suffolk....fantastic place. And Southwold up the road. http://www.aldeburgh-uk.com/

Another petty observation pk....it may be an old-fashioned attitude but i personally don't want my wife walking any of the streets of London past midnight. But that's just my safety mechanism, you may proffer something different. pk Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > TonyQuinn Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > So a message to all girls especiall > > have the victims been 'girls' then?

Missmay, I feel for you but you just generally have to accept things happen occasionally but that Dulwich is better than many other places in London--a guy got shot dead outside our flat on Barry Road a year ago and we got very scared for a while but soon recovered our poise. It sounds like a lot of these recent incidents happened late at night. So a message to all girls especiall, avoid walking on your own late at night. Keep your wits and you'll be fine, honest.
-
Dean, sorry to hear about what happened to you. Not good at all, but just interested to hear what time it happened?

In reference to another thread I started, I hope all you dog owners are picking up the shite your muts are depositing on the streets of Dulwich. We are watching. ZERO TOLERANCE

What to do about all the dog pooh in Dulwich?
TonyQuinn replied to TonyQuinn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I don't want to blow my own trumpet but this thread I started may have something to do with the improvement round my neck of the woods too. The council distributed leaflets to all households and it seems the irresponsible owners may have taken note. And I'm not even drawing a salary Mr Barber. -
Why don't we ask what the council is actually going to do about the potholes? They have to be sorted out, it does cost money, money they're not going to get from central government. But something needs to be done. Please tell us Mr Council or Mr Barber what the plan is.

Just a quick note, I think everyone with knows the difference between the dog and fox variety. Anyway, just wanted to say I was throroughly impressed that the council have leafleted my road about it. Hopefully it will shame individuals to get a grip......as i said before. ZERO TOLERANCE. -
What to do about all the dog pooh in Dulwich?
TonyQuinn replied to TonyQuinn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
When starting this thread, I had no idea that so many people were experiencing so much dog turd tribulations. It may not be the most important issue in the world but it's important to address. Anyway, Mr Barber, I can tell you those yellow sign thingies do not do anything. My street has several of them....the dog pooh is daily. And sophiesofa, it's free. I didn't go through the phone line...takes forever to get through. Just use the email. They got in touch with me within an hour and the dog pooh had gone by the time I'd gotten home. https://securesite.southwark.gov.uk/ShowForm.asp?fm_fid=273 -
Labour candidates in East Dulwich
TonyQuinn replied to Oliver Kempton's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Well done Oliver. Labour have been too apologetic. Come out fighting, you can still do it. When the facts are presented to the great British public, it's possible. There are many of us out there wishing you well! Keep the faith and the red flag flying. -

I am glad this thread has encouraged a debate about what this issue and confirms that I haven't been going mad. Again, if you see dog deposits, ring the council on the link at the start of this thread. Council have told me they will look to leaflet the area. And to whoever thinks it's foxes, I think most people know the difference between the two. -
Scott, wish you luck....it's about time the Uplands lived up to its potential.

TonyQuinn replied to TonyQuinn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Everyone, who has a problem with this please contact the council on the link at the start of this thread. Southwark will get back immediately. The more complaints they get, the more likely this issue will be addressed. Zero tolerance! -
What to do about all the dog pooh in Dulwich?
TonyQuinn replied to TonyQuinn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I lived on Upland Road and never had any problems there. It's since we moved up the hill a bit that it's become more of an issue. As Morty said, Silvestor Road is bad as are all the other streets further up. Clearly there appear to be more irresponsible dog owners further up the hill. Council have responded and will be clearing up the mess I spotted this morning within a few hours....really not a bad service at all. But that's only masking the issue and letting the irresponsible dog owners off the hook...for now!
