  1. Thanks for your replies guys. It's probably a bit short notice (Aug). Thought I'd see if there was anyone up for it, if not that's cool-I still plan on going and having a little adventure:)) cheers Dulwichflower
  2. Hi It's a bit of a long shot, but was wondering if anyone fancied travelling around SE Asia maybe around August/Sept time? I have been thinking about this for a few months now. I posted a while back as at the time I was looking into group holidays (explore etc...) but thought I'd post on here for some travel buddies and see if there was any interest. Basically my friends have either done the whole SE Asia thing and others are not up for it this year. So, hence my posting... About me: professional female, 30s, working in the NHS. PM me if you're interested in chatting further. Thanks Dulwichflower:)
  3. Thanks Cassius. Had a look through the Explore brochure today, they've got some interesting trips. It's seems Explore is popular with everyone. Flower
  4. Hi All Thanks for your replies, going to look into my options, a trekking holiday is just a possility. I quite fancy South East Asia and have seen some great trips coming up- hoping to book something soon:)) Cheers Dulwichflower:)
  5. Hi I'm planning on going on a group trekking holiday (Explore, Intrepid etc...) never done anything like this before, but fancy doing some different and out of my comfort zone. I am a bit nervous about it but also excited! Hoping to go within next couple of months-that way I wont have time to change my mind. It would be great to hear other peoples experiences on these types of holidays. Cheers dulwichflower :)
  6. A few nights ago, my mum (Ulverscroft Rd) was also taken in by young guy from Apex Promotions. She said the guy wasn't pushy, quite chatty but keen for a telephone number. It was only after he had left, she realised something wasn't right. I haven't called the police yet to report incident but from what I'm reading on here, but I will do. Now I feel worried. dulwich flower
  7. Hi Clare I'm still waiting to hear back from Abbey. No money has been credited back yet. I too am thinking of writing a letter complaining about the poor communication. Flower
  8. My abbey credit card has been used in Italy and Spain over the last few weeks, just received my statement and was shocked::o. I haven't used this card for months, as I'm trying to be good. Anyway, spent most of this afternoon on the phone cancelling card, then spoke to about 7 different people (passed on to next person after explaining situation each time) and then given different numbers, at one point spoke to someone in Portugal(?), who didn't quite know how i ended up speaking to her... who then gave me the telephone number i had called initially! Hopefully it will all get sorted. Flower
  9. Hi All Thanks for all the advice, I am giving my career some serious thought, and thinking about why I went into nursing and what options are at this time. Will keep you posted:) Cheers Flower
  10. Hi all Thanks for your replies. Dulwichmum, if you know of any cute guys, in their 30s point them in my direction, I'm looking for a man too as well as a career change. Maybe I'll join that gym on LL! Keef, nah, don't think I could go into teaching-to me that's more stressful than nursing. Coach Beth, I may take you up on that chat(tu). It would be great if Ellie was available for a chat, hopefully she would be able to answer some of my questions. After the day i've had today at work, I'll all set to make changes soon. Cheers guys Dulwichflower:))
  11. Hi all I have decided to retrain, I am a Nurse and have been in nursing for 5 years now, but have come to realise that nursing is not for me. Over the last year I have thought about what I would like to do and have thought about becoming a florist. Are there any florists on here, who could offer some advice? or has anyone recently retrained and changed their career? Would be great to have a chat. Many Thanks Dulwichflower:))
  12. Hi Chocaholic, I too attended classes briefly at EDT a while back, and it was fun. But I also ended up being the bloke too. Do you know what time the classes start at the Plough? and on which day? as I would like to give salsa another go, and prefer something local, so I might go and check it out. Cheers Flower (a girl too):))
  13. Well, I had a viewing with the guy from Haart of a flat in ED. He did not know anything about the flat, couldn't answer any of my questions, wasn't very chatting, all in all I wasn't very impressed! and this is a flat I had to chase him about, again this week, no phone calls from him. I've regisitered with other agents now and at least I'm getting some response back. If I ask for another person from Haart instead of this guy who really doesn't seem bothered, would that make things difficult for me? I am thinking about it as I don't think I can bare to call this guy again. Flower
  14. I feel quite depressed now:( but I suppose i should join up with other agents on LL, so that's my plan for tomorrow! I don't rememeber it being so hard when i was looking two years ago but then i was a first time buyer all keen and excited! Now I just want to buy somewhere and move in-no hassle, wishful thinking methinks:-S Cheers. Flower
  15. Hi I registered with Haart earlier this week. I'm not too sure what to make of the service so far, I didn't receive any calls since registering but this morning whilst walking by I noticed two properties in my price range,( maybe they were put on today), I went in a spoke to the guy from earlier in the week, and he didn't seem too bothered, anyway he gave me the info sheets. Have arranged bookings but he doesn't seem to be very encouraging (?) Is it just me? or maybe he's just not having a good day. what are others experiences with Haart? when i bought my current place the estate agents were constantly calling, but this is too quiet for my liking. Oh well, i've had my little moan : ( Flower
  16. Hi Spangles30, I live in Forest Hill, just off Stanstead Rd, nearer the Catford end and at the moment I am looking to sell up and move back to East Dulwich. I don't feel safe in the area, especially travelling home on the bus in the evenings and even walking around. A friend of mine lives in Sydenham and loves it, she says it's changing for the better and she doesn't plan to move for a while. Stay in East Dulwich, there is so much more to do and see. It's a buzzing area:)) dulwichflower
  17. Well, I was smiling away, (must of looked slightly odd-especially for a Monday morning), one person smiled back, others just didn't make eye contact. Well, I'm still on my mission to get folk smiling at my bus stop:)) Flower:))
  18. I too went to St John's & St Clements when it was on Northcross/Archdale Rd, I left in 1987. I recently saw in a local publicaton that a 3 bed flat was for sell, and it was quite pricey. I thought it was a nice little school :)
  19. Well, tomorrow I shall be looking out for smiling dulwich folk:)) I shall be smiling away at my bus stop (the one outside Thomas Moores Hall) between 8.00-8.15(depending when the 185 makes an appearance) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :))
  20. Why oh why don't people smile at bus stops??? I have often wondered this, especially whilst waiting for my bus in the mornings. We see the same faces day after day, but everyone looks so serious. Wouln't be nice to smile at each other? :) :) so, come on, on Monday morning-SMILE Flower:))
  21. I think it was called something Trading", it sold large pieces of furniture, It's been closed for ages. Has the shop closed down?
