  1. Hi there, we're also over that way and found it useful to look at schools in Lewisham. They all go on the same form through Southwark, but if you're that side of the borough, some of the schools over the border will be closer than Southwark schools... try this site for last year's catchment.. https://lewisham.gov.uk/myservices/education/schools/school-admission/applying-to-start-secondary-school/school-admission-distance-map
  2. A new weekly yoga class starting 25th September at the new Belham Primary School (corner of Maxted and Bellenden Roads) I'm a Hatha (Sivananda) yoga teacher, with over 9 years experience teaching adults and children, in large and small groups as well as pre and post natal yoga too. My classes are inclusive with different options given for different stages of practice and different bodies. Everyone is made to feel welcome and encouraged to work at their own pace with support. Each week we will follow a similar format of relaxation, breath and movement to keep the body and mind healthy, allowing you to become familiar with the practice and develop your own practice over time. Classes are: Weekly on Tuesdays 7.30-9pm from 25th September We will be in the new first floor dance space at the Belham Primary School, Bellenden Road (SE15 4BW) This is a lovely large hall with floor to ceiling windows on one side and a huge door onto the terrace for warmer evenings. The class will be for up to 12 mats, giving everyone plenty of room to stretch out! Classes cost ?11 per session in half termly or termly blocks i.e. ?44 this half term, or ?132 full term to Christmas from 25th September - no class at half term (23rd October) And a ?15 single session is available (subject to space) if you're wanting to come along once or twice to give it a go before signing up. Please note, this is not a drop-in class as I need to know who's coming each week, so please contact me beforehand! For all questions and bookings please reply with a private message or call Harriet on 07943216677
  3. Tom came to fix some switches for us last week.. he came on time, did the job and gave us some sound advice on another, which we'll be asking him to complete soon. Tom's a pleasure to have around, prompt, easy to contact and dies a great job!
  4. Our little one left his backpack in Warwick gardens this afternoon after a school picnic.. It looks like this http://m.petersofkensington.com.au/Product/Detail/skiphop-zoo-backpack-monkey.aspx Like a monkey face with a zip pocket at the mouth and has a dinosaur label on it with his name, Luca Bailey Any findings or sightings please let me know!
  5. Peter Benison did one for us around Easter and did a great job, and was a pleasure to have around. I'd call on him again any time and have already recommended him to friends in need..
  6. A and m carpet care have been doing ours for years and have always done a good job.. Google carpet cleaning Nunhead or let me know and I'll dig out their number!
  7. Hi there, I'm a local yoga teacher with many years of experience in pregnancy teaching. I have another woman interested in pregnancy yoga at the moment so if you're interested and we can find a time that suits us all, I'd be happy to teach the two of you together. I teach at my home, so am limited to two or three per group, but that also means you get a more personalised class and I can address your needs each week.. and it's warm and cosy! I'd usually run it on a monthly basis. Sessions are ?15 per person as I have no studio overheads and I can provide appreciations from past students if you'd like! Send me a PM if you'd like to talk about if further Harriet
  8. Another content Belham reception mum here - yes, with only a term behind us, and despite the disappointment of not having the whole new building complete by next September, I'd still say the Belham isn't much of an unknown quantity.. Dulwich Hamlets has been running for years and the two schools are very closely linked, it doesn't feel risky at all. The staff are all lovely, the kids seem happy and any teething issues to do with the newness of the school have been dealt with very well. Our child is happy there, loves his teachers, comes back singing and dancing and telling me about so may things - he's having a whale of a time at the Belham, both in and outside the classroom. Not sure what more we could ask for!!!
  9. Last attempt to find this... I made a pinafore for a friend's daughter and it fell off the friend's buggy during a mad rainy dash home! Any sightings would at least give me hope that it's not ended up in a bin somewhere.. Lost in Peckham Rye Park on Tuesday 4th November in the afternoon - light cord dress, dark grey with little dots and red toadstools and a red lining, sized for a 4 year old. It was in a white paper bag but given the rain, that might not have lasted long! Have been to the park wardens and to check at the cafe but nothing has come up so far... Fingers crossed and thanks to anyone who can help H
  10. very hqppy - we had ours done about 9 years ago (and our neighbours a year later on our recommendation). Murry and his colleagues have been out a few times to fix this and that but nothing major and everything was dealt with efficiently and with a smile.. great service, lovely people
  11. Thank you thank you!!! I'll follow up the leads and get back to you CPFC fan - there's another recommendation I've had elsewhere for Hindwoods in East Dulwich... will also be worth a call I hope fingers crossed. It is a full time job at times! don't think anyone quite envisaged how much we were taking on when we were fighting to buy the freehold!!
  12. We bought our freehold some years ago and after managing things ourselves since, are now looking for a Management Agent to do this work for us... Given that we bought the freehold in part to rid ourselves of some rather horrendous agents, we're understandably nervous about going down this route, but can't keep doing it all ourselves. Does anyone know of some lovely, efficient, preferably local managing agents who will help???? Any suggestions very welcome!
  13. little update - called Justin, very nice guy indeed, but has moved back to Bristol :o(
  14. it's right next to locale, in what used to be that extra dining room behind the second shop front. Locale's only got the first front now, the Aneto one's grey-green, from what I remember and has an A board outside and some tables and chairs
  15. Aneto? delicious lunch there yesterday, really friendly staff and a lovely sunny spot to escape from the cold of the playground next door!
