help needed- applying to schools im very confused

They like to guarantee a minimum of 3 terms in nursery, so you would normally be offered a place on the term they are "rising 4" .. but they could attend for up to 5 terms if there is space. That's not likely though, in this area. -

Does any of that include a soft play area or any facilities for toddlers? By new plant you mean new engineering equipment etc as opposed to a new yucca or something? :-) -

More likely Sept 2011. But you apply to the school when they are two, and they can take any three year old off the list (in age order) if a place comes up -

Lewisham Admissions booklet just says " If you accept an offer of a place in another borough, please advise Lewisham Admissions Team in writing." So it doesn't look they mind you continuing with the admissions process elsewhere up until you get an offer (or not) Southwark's booklet says "Your offer of a primary school will remain available unless we are informed by you in writing of any alternative suitable arrangement for education that has been made for your child" Prior to the Common Application Form it would have been quite easy to hold on to an offer frpm one LEA while waiting for the other. But I don't know if under the new onlone process, if you accept a Lewisham Place, will it delete you from the system with regards to your Southwark application? Totally nonsense if that is the case!! -

That is AWFUL if it's true... you will have to give up the chance of a Lewisham place in the hope that Southwark will come good. Makes Southwark's decision to delay their offers look thoroughly negligent. -

What is happening with the pools? I can't find any info now on the Southwark site. I don't suppose we're getting a baby pool? But maybe there will be a little softplay?! -

Btw, the govt has recommended from Sept 2011 a single point of entry (ie no Jan intake) I haven't seen anything about whether Southwark is complying with this -

They will not all be first choices though, that includes parents who chose other schools further up the preference list

If you were applying now for reception for Sept you would be too late, apps were in January and the results will be out shortly. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200172/school_admissions/1209/nursery_and_primary_school_admissions -

I wouldn't hold your breath, I have twice done exactly that about the Coop store on Forest Hill Rd and after (chasing to get even as far as) an acknowledgement of my mail... I never got a substantive response.

You can use cows milk in cooking, (unless you're particularly worried about allergies) but don't give it as a main drink until 1 year. Re packed lunches - stuff like breadsticks, rice cakes, little sandwiches (philly or cheese or egg or tuna) or pitta to dip in Hummous Chopped cucumber, baby tomatoes Fruit

I don't think I would go back, having got so far. But I'd have a look at the No Cry Sleep Solution and try to introduce some other sleep cues/props for her to use during the night. GL! x -

In my job, the policy for part timers is always to calculate the annual entitlement to annual leave plus bank hols then to prorata it and then those who work part time take theitr annual elave and bank hols from the days they receive. -
I might be up for venturing out in the afternoon, if it's sunny. D Pk or Horniman sandpit... 2.30 onwards
