Is there no room on this forum for anyone who wears funny coloured trousers? Is that it? B)
  2. littleEDfamily Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Still feeling slightly nauseous about you Mr > Tumble pervs out there! Wrong, wrong, wrong! Noo! It wasn't me that mentioned sexual fantasies! I just said he makes me giggle! How can you corrupt my innocent feelings?!!
  3. verds Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You fancy Mr Tumble? I've just done a sick in my > mouth.:) I wouldn't go quite so far... let's just say I have at least 10 episodes saved on my v-box though!! Though: http://www.metro.co.uk/news/41884-hi-kids-im-f--you
  4. I have a soft spot for Justin and Mr Tumble and often find myself chuckling at Gigglebiz...
  5. You could suspect a milk allergy or something if they were very runny, but if not, not sure what to suggest! How much is the total volume? If larger than you'd expect per day, must be because more solids ae going through than normal. If a daily ration split into small chunks... maybe that's just how he is. Will be awkward when he starts school...though these things often change as they get older Fo comparison, my twins prob poo the equivalent of a large banana each per day (once on the floor at the bottom of the slide at Goose Green, I still bear the emotional scars!)
  6. I thoight technically an au pair isn't supposed to have sole charge of any preschool child
  7. How sad. My little boy has asked before about things like that, eg a lady we say yesterday missing some fingers, and it's a useful chance to talk about different people and their circumstances. It's not nice to think about a child who has cancer but who knows when our childen might find themselves close to it, either via a friend, someone at school, or god forbid, a brush with serious illness themselves. We can't wrap them in cotton wool and the little boy concerned should be able to go out and about without being whispered about!
  8. Agreed! Roll on the Summer.

  10. It's a bit too early to find somewhere now, for Sept, though it might be wise to sort it out in June/July and pay a reatiner over the Summer (Sept is a good time to start as some children move on to school etc) If you have a school in mind, you could find out which minders do picks up from it, that's important in the longterm...

Well with respect, Anna, you did pop up on the homebirth group thread saying you'd decided not to have a homebirth as it was too dangerous (I paraphrase) which seems even less ontopic than Rhubarb's response here which I read as perfectly sensible advice!
  12. Parts of the playground are still open.
  13. Mine poo more, and sloppier, the more fruit they eat. Also brown bread and pasta is apparently not advised though I give it to mine, and again, I think that makes for more poo.

If you want to raise a generation in which the middle-class children are as socially excluded as the poorest children, then this is the way to do it. Services only for the poor will end up as poor services.?
  15. Might be worth writing to Tessa Jowell and Ed Balls. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Preschooldevelopmentandlearning/NurseriesPlaygroupsReceptionClasses/DG_173054 "Children?s centres are open to all children and parents"
  16. katgod Wrote: ----------------when I went to > the Sure Start soft play sessions at Peckham Pulse > it was always made clear to me that if someone > more 'target' came along then I would have to > leave. ED Balls speech shows that Surestart centres are supposed to be for all.
  17. I also stand them in the bath and squirt them with the bath shower attachment. Say reday go before doing their heads.

Belle Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Fuschia - i like the idea of the shower - how does > it work logistically, I mean do you have to get in > there with them or do you do it with shower > attachment? Ours ia sHOWER CUBICLE. fIRST FEW TIMES i TOOK THEM IN HOLDING THEM (one at a time) then I switched to taking them both in with me, now I send them in on their own or with son no 1. They're 23m. They like to play with plastic IKEA cups, filling them from the shower.
  19. Roast peppers and squash and sweet potato go down well...
  20. Also avoided all soaps etc for a long time, and once we did start hairwashing, went for the "ready, go," chuck the water over them approach to rinsing. Also our twins have been showering ever since they could stand up (and in my arms, before)
  21. http://news.aol.co.uk/uk-news/nursery-food-standards-face-review/article/201003160221217013068 "Children's Secretary Ed Balls said protecting Sure Start had become an election issue. "We are launching a political campaign called Save Our Sure Starts because the Conservative Party has committed to cutting Sure Start and really focusing them on only disadvantaged communities," he said. "We are saying the children's centre should be for all parents in every community in the country and we want to keep investing in our children's centres." "

  24. I knew someone online from a pregnancy forum who was offered it, I looked it up at the time and my feeling was I would have taken it. I might be able to find the information about the study (it's a multi centred study) I had the scan too, sorry your findings were a little worrying, but forewarned is forearmed I'd say. Just one thing I'd suggest, don't travel too far away from Kings unless you know there is a good hospital and NICU. Just to be safe. I had a friend with a very prem baby who but by chance would have had her while on a weekend away in Paris!
  25. You don't need the jabs, I checked this out thoroughly with ds1 and actually made a complaint as though the gp and vaccs ooklet said go ahead, the hv said no and really upset me. (I guess they did get the retraining promised!)
