  2. There is a big fat jolly phonics book that runs through the sounds ... Plus cd and YouTube films as people have said. Also ladybird books have several relevant series - all mine have enjoyed an Abc book and another series where they tell the story themselves... Plain white polo shirts are fine from a supermarket Shoes must be plain black though trainer style is fine PE is navy shorts or track suit trousers and white t shirt I send PE in a named bag and leave it there till half term I send a navy fleece in the bag too just in case Sweatshirts are available second hand via the PTA too

  13. Isn't it funny how once your child is named you can't imagine them by any other name? What names were short listed but not used? Child no 1 could have been Cai or Keir Daughter was intended to be Grainne if I ever had a girl, but in the end I chose a different name Latest child no inspiration struck - I toyed with Neirin to universal disapprobation

I think people are free associating from that (I am) which is what the OP wanted, I think People fall into different groups I think, re names Some people seek the unusual and shudder at those who choose a name where there will be 2 or 3 in the class Others are just the opposite Horses for courses, I guess
