Great views out over London also! Tried this today - the water play looks amazing with buckets to wnch and dams and bridges - sadly the water was off There is a paddling Pool there too (empty) Ended up at streatham common paddling pool - easy access as right by. At park Shady, grassed surround and virtually empty of children!
  5. Norwood park is off Streatham common paddling pool is filled and we had it virtually to ourselves today
  6. I have found that e swim vests don't actually float mine head up, and when they are out of their depth, I need to hold them. On the other other hand they are more comfortable than arm bands. And even some arm bands (zoggis Rollups) don't float them very well either. A wetsuit gives some buoyancy (I have basic ones from two bare feet) and basic pound shop arm bands seem to be new for their confidence, even though I don't think they help much technique. I think in the eArly days it's about having fun and gaining confidence though.
  7. The door was closed today. Would have been stressful if not
  8. My 20m old doing just the same.. After our holiday where naps were hard to organise He is awake now, not napped yet. Will keep him up, bed at 6
  9. We went along for the tdlp event, always been great fan of theirs. Managing 3 under 5 on my own is never easy. I have recommended it to twins club members, places you ca for in a double buggy (or several, for a meet up!) are few and far between.
  10. Just been along for the first time to this new cafe on the nunhead side of p rye park near the adventure Playground Loads of space, toys, easy parking ?1.50 children's sandwiches
  11. Hope the weather holds Cp one o clock club (open mornings) and park is a nice day out lOcally
  12. My little girl enjoyed theatre bugs at goose green Pricey though Best for children that actually like performing
  13. Godstone farm has plenty to do - animals, sandpit, play areas
  14. I was going to post about the fact that today (second day my 4 yo twins attended with their big brother) all 3 of them were miffed they had to leave at 4 and weren't booked in for the late session And boy twin really isn't someone who has ever been keen on organised activities, my twins don't start reception till September It is very well organised and calm quiet atmosphere I think

  16. Nice little article http://theawakenedparent.org/2011/07/25/older-babies-who-are-still-breastfeeding-at-night/
  17. I think it's nature's way (why else would evening breastmill have sleep inducing properties) It's such a lovely snuggly part of the day, and it's time you can never bring back If it works for you now, I wouldn't second guess the future too much You might as well say that carrying your newborn around means they will never walk, or putting them In nappies means they will never toilet train Things change, nothing stays the same Try to enjoy the 'now'
  18. Frozen onion and frozen sliced peppers, both great for cooking
  19. Sw, that's good advice. Having twins, I have had a lot of opportunity to try all that stuff out as they have gone through various fighting, biting, gouging and wrestling stages! Luckily they seem to reserve the worst of it for each other (though the girl twin is prone to walloping anyone who is mean to her brother, which can be embarrassing)
  20. Dg2, I think you are misunderstanding me I was saying that if my child was hit by a 2 year old, I wouldn't see the need to make a big thing of it with the other parent The OP is doing all the right things, the behaviour is very common at that aged, and I don't think she should feel too bad about it.
  21. It's so normal I think probably your friend is just a bit sensitive I don't think I would be particularly upset at minor fisticuffs between 2 year olds, though I suppose if you have a particularly gentle child it might be hard to be philosophical You're doing all the right things To be honest, if two preschoolers are running around with sticks, someone will get hit!
  22. I don't think the measuring with the tape is that accurate, and different mws can measure the same belly different anyway The size of the bump relates as much to baby position and fluid levels as it does to size A scan to actually check the baby's size might be the recommended precaution - but chances are it would be fine So I wouldn't worry just yet! And fwiw I hardly ate at all during my twin pg but delivered two fairly hefty babies in the end!
  23. Fufton, I wonder whether his experience of reflux has given him a bit of a negative view of the whole food thing? Poor little chap Definitely sounds like getting him checked out now would be a good move
  24. Did he have reflux as a baby? How did weaning go?
