Potty training a 2.5yo girl. Any top tips?
Fuschia replied to Otta's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Sb, I think wearing a pullup can be confusing and drag the whole process out But in general I think gradual is always best So I think if your approach us working for you (and us manageable when you are often out with two of them by yourself) then that's great! -
My mum always had really good real Neighbours/friends she could call on ... Very lucky

Jasmina, taking a 5m off dairy is no small thing! I should think there is more professional help available (allergy testing before you decide what route to take, for eg) Good luck! Let us know how it goes -
It was a year ago ... Time does go by so fast. Though not those really dark difficult 6 weeks I had. Seemed to go on forever. I really never thought he would breastfeed!

I would see it in stages I think Perhaps before you whip off thd nappy have a day or two where she practices sitting on the potty, read some stories about potty training -
Was a time when our mOthers were doing it, they could drop in on real neighbours for baby advice, I suppose this is the virtual equivalent!

I was in a really bad way and everybody here was helping to Prop me up Baby born 4/12/10 Wouldnt latch on Was expressing all his milk Finally had tongue tie dx, snipped on 21/12/10 but took him A month to learn how to breastfeed I has high blood pressure, readmitted when he was a day old, back and forth to mau in the first 2 weeks with problems, ended up with a ct scan for horrible neurological symptoms Later dx with a chest infection snd urine infection - no wonder I felt so ill With a baby 100% reliant on ebm my breast pump blew up on Xmas day! Thank goodness for the forum ... Had several offers of loan pumps Abd at about 11pm I went put with my cost over my pjs and borrowed a pump from saffron Honestly, it was a terrible time and thd women here, really helped to keep be going, especially at 3am when I felt so ill and alone Wonderful place it can be, this forum

But agreed that if they're needed, bake sure you get them I had a terrible breast abcess with my twins, took 6 weeks if high dose drugs and was surgically drained twice Really awful Gps are not experts and even a and e gave me a dose if intravenous antibiotics but the wrong one (but referred me to the breast clinic who are great) I think mastitis unless you are pretty sure it's mild and nurofen will sort it out, definitely requires seeing a dr right away
-
Not all mastitis is actually an infection, though the hard lump sort (as opposed to thd huge engorged boobs with fever sort) that Amy seems to have, probably is an infection Being offered antibiotics unnecessarily, as I once was, creates problems (baby got thrush)

If you have only seen the gp so far I would ask for a referral to a dermatologist and allergy clinic. I don't see how it can be suggested you drop cows milk without you seeing a dietician for proper advice X -
I had to look that up, sw How did you get into those? Boxing day is always salads, cheese, left over turkey etc, for us (was traditional Xmas day evening food when I was small but we have lunch later than I did as a child so there isn't much need for a big tea)
-
Oh well done! I bet you will make a fantastic midwife
-
Just being nosy really Do you have a tradition for meals on Xmas eve, Xmas day breakfast, tea, boxing day lunch etc ... I used to make blueberry pancakes on Xmas day but recently discovered baked fruit clafoutis which us similar but diesnt involve toiling over the frying pans ...

Fuschia replied to crystal7's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Lactose intolerance and cows milk Protein allergy are two different problems The first is unlikely In bsbies - breadth milk comedians lactose after all But an Overload is possible ESP of there ard latch issues/fast letdown /hindmilk imbalance Cows milk protein Allergy is more common, and the proteins can be passed in Breast milk - hence worth trying an elimination diet if it seems a strong possibility Children grow out of it usually, luckily X -

I wonder why he is so windy... Does he latch ok, yellow poo etc? Do you think you have a Fast let down ? Google lactose overload Foremilk/hind milk imbalance Do you switch sides a lot in the evening? I forget at what point babies start to recognise night from Day, but your problem sounds more specific Hugs, you must be particularly worn out with Xmas approaching x -

That's a lovely site saffron! I gave tended to avoid the worst of the plastic by buying in bulk on eBay coloured or white paper sacks and them putting in cupcake, mini choc bar, bubbles possibly with an interesting balloon, stickers or tattoo At least then I know nothing gets wasted... Those things always get used up in my house right away I try to avoid the mini plastic toys that get discarded almost right away and are a waste of money Our parties tend to have a large number of children at of various ages, by the time we add in cousins, hodiarenrs children, family friends, cousins etc ....And siblings of all those ... Before we even start on actual friends This makes for a potentially Expensive party so i do tend to limit party bags and contents to a pound or so Someone I know from The twins club, very creative person, is setting up a business doing craft activities for parties and I am Hoping she might also do things that could be bought to put in party bags because I would shell out a bit for something nice children could do at home On the subject of party bags ... I try to make mine tooth friendly ... I shudder a bit when Mine get lollies they then insist on sucking on for ages. I Prefer a quick chocolate fix!

If you are awake anyway... If you find you suddenly start shivering, jump into a hit shower and massage the breast I think nurofen is ok Hope it doesn't take hold ... It's horrible Hi saffron, what are you doing awake? I got woken up by the bloody cat, the baby is fast asleep but I am wide awake now Typical
