This is where you kind of lose me, cyclists as all road users need to take responsibility for their own actions. I cycle but my daily commute is by motorcycle and I will never, ever, go up the inside of an artic at a junction regardless of road markings or how any vehicle is indicating.

Great stat - what's the source please?

I live on Melford Road which has all those concerns and yes, you are being selfish about this.
  5. May I recommend following this twitter chap - He'll be a great help.
  6. If any councillor wants to stand with a policy of banning them they've got my vote.

I agree with you in general but when on the pavement you should get off your bike and push it. You are now a pedestrian.

  9. When you start thinking the guy in the Southern Comfort ad seems pretty sound
  10. Thread titles regarding accidents etc that say 'today', either that or no date reference at all. eg "Accident on Denmark Hill - avoid"
  11. It is very, very heavy.

What may well be one of his offspring just flew into our patio doors and collapsed on the floor looking stunned and confused (or crushed and devalued, who knows?). Once he'd got his wits together he flew off and found a safe spot in a tree though so panic over.
  13. The increasing ubiquity of Emilie Sande.
  14. We went about a year ago and had a nice time but the atmosphere as well as the food all felt very old fashioned, things have moved on. Put it this way we haven't been back.. Having said that I hope Eric and Margaret have a long and happy retirement as they are great hosts.
  15. Have you considered a motorbike / scooter?
  16. When does a hotel become boutique?
  17. Have you tried knocking on the door daytime or early evening? Agree speaking direct to them first is surely best.
  18. X Box won't play BluRay but does the rest. Given you already have a player though it might well be the best solution. I got one of these players recently which is brilliant, has Netflix integrated but doesn't have 4od - http://www.richersounds.com/product/1-box-home-cinema-systems/panasonic/scbtt590/pana-scbtt590
  19. I go with the PR plan - find someone local to the receiver. Essentially your local Interflora florist just sends the order to them anyway and takes what? 15-20%? Remove them from the equation and it can go into the actual flowers. I've done this for orders both UK and internationally. Given how easy that is to do these days I'd say Interflora's day's are numbered..
  20. Some discussion here might help - http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,449655
  21. http://www.michelinguides.com/ Michelin restaurant guides have issued a cease-and-desist notice to a blogger who has nabbed the URL michelinguides.com and filled it with photoshopped pictures of European football boss and 1984 European Championship top goalscorer Michel Platini. The blogger bought the domain, retitled it "Michel In Guides" and filled it with images of Michel Platini, the former Juventus footballer and current President of UEFA, wodged onto pictures of guides: girl guides, gardening guides, tour guides and dog training guides.
  22. Seems like a good excuse to post this Adam Buxton production -
  23. Which is best for a beginner? I quite fancy the idea.
