Read the thread with interest but have to conclude PR that yes, when it comes to it, the decision is as simple as it sounds. The consequences may be complicated but the core question is simple and it seems pretty clear to me he shouldn't be driving. Imagine a londonbikers thread on about a driver with limited vision causing an accident...

  8. I quite often go out of my way to drive back via Horniman Drive and the roads round there, always enjoy seeing Wembley through the gap in Dawson Heights as I come over the top.

    Driving

In which case I hope you get pulled yourself as that's potentially dangerous driving, you certainly shouldn't be, by your driving, causing another road use to have to alter their speed or direction anyway. Lane discipline 264 You should always drive in the left-hand lane when the road ahead is clear. If you are overtaking a number of slower-moving vehicles, you should return to the left-hand lane as soon as you are safely past. Slow-moving or speed-restricted vehicles should always remain in the left-hand lane of the carriageway unless overtaking. You MUST NOT drive on the hard shoulder except in an emergency or if directed to do so by the police, HA traffic officers in uniform or by signs. Much as I have my issues with the French their motorway lane discipline is excellent and the motorways flow as they should. If everyone here drove like they do (and not like Waynetta) our motorways would be a dream compared to what they are now. A whole website for people like Waynetta - http://www.middlelanemorons.com/
  13. I never get these threads. Forest Hill or East Dulwich to London Bridge isn't any slower than a tube would be surely.. apart from late night frequency but that's for most the exception, not the daily rule.
  14. ...as Nick Ross used to say on Crimewatch. I was burgled a couple of years ago and understand how upsetting it is from personal experience but.... I've not been burgled tonight. Or last night, or the night before, I just don't start a thread to say I've not been burgled until now but here it is - I wasn't burgled tonight. Let's not get ourselves into panic stations ladies and gentlemen.
  15. 30-45 minutes to London Bridge? Move nearer the station then.
  16. The way Andy Gray always refers to Gerrard as 'Steven'.

  20. Been meaning to say for a while how pleased I am that as the roadworks edge nearer the Harvester there's now no lights, the realisation seems to have been made the road is wide enough which I'd banged on about earlier in the thread. And they painted one of the mini roundabouts on Wood Vale at least so, step by step, progress of sorts.
  21. How are you appealing on the grounds it didn't occur when you admit it in the first post?

As has been suggested on the other thread it's the fact that it's so easy to publicise things which creates the worry. I'm pretty sure there aren't a great deal more burglaries than at any other time, and also there's plenty of people who live round here who aren't on the forum and carry on with their lives, not panicking unnecessarily.
  23. SeaHitz speaks the truth re this whole rapid communication creating worry out of proportion to the facts, and I think all James was doing was suggesting a sense of proportion might be in order. Either that or we start creating "I wasn't burgled / assaulted / looked at in a funny way today" threads for balance.
  24. I heard it was a clown hunt.
