  1. The article could be nominated for many awards for misleading headline. If I read it right average speed cameras can be located by GPS, no motorists are tracked from space at all? And whoever said it is right about "The motorist" being taxed or whatever. I am "the motorist", and "the homeowner", and the "hard working family" etc etc as well. Not forgetting "the drinker". But I stopped being "the smoker".
  2. edited for wrong threadness oops
  3. In my mind this isn't a Tiny Little Thing but that's for the massive to decide.. People who carry on their mobile conversation when paying at a checkout and treat the person behind the counter with a fundamental lack of basic respect. Really, REALLY gets my goat for sheer rudeness. Saw it this morning and the woman in question just pointed to her ear when asked if there was anything wrong, no eye contact and apparently that made everything OK. Genuinely if I was working in the shop (and wouldn't get sacked) I'd refuse to serve them. Phones in general actually are so rude, as is the expectation we'll answer them. You don't randomly interrupt conversations in person so why should you be able to do it remotely?

Not a great limerick admittedly.

  6. He could be thinking both?
  7. The geese fly south in the winter.
  8. And I'm finding myself having to want United to win..
  9. The scratchy bit on a coffee cup lid being on the outside and not the inside.
  10. They left an advert saying that they were a company you can use for asbestos removal. That's not an asbestos warning or notification by any stretch of the imagination... I'm assuming there was something more or this is just scaremongering.

My heart agrees with you but where do you draw the line? Once rules get bent you have problems.. It's an unfortunate fact of life that football clubs have fans, and when the clubs misbehave the fans suffer eg Calciopoli in Italy. I think it becomes an interesting point when you stop calling companies Football Clubs, and substitute it with the word Football Company - that's what they are. Now, if a company breaks rules, it's much clearer. The word Club clouds our thinking, and the concept of fans as opposed to loyal customers doesn't help. That was my head writing btw.
  12. How do we know it's asbestos?
  13. I don't think you can get pumice from Iceland. Maybe from Boots?
  14. Tracey Barlow last week off of Coronation Street.
  15. Much as I like the idea of the romance of Pompey being in Europe I don't see why they should be. The rules are clear and they didn't follow them, end of. Pleased for West Ham as well. What I'd be extra pleased to see is them safe before the last game so City can beat them while they relax..

  17. tallgirl - this thread is for useful "contact your councillor" stuff, not making party political points. Plenty of other places to do that without turning this thread into another debate.
  18. Madness - The Return Of The Los Palmas Seven. "Waiter".
  19. I was next to David Haye at the lights the other day.
  20. He'd be off like a shot I reckon. Liverpool's problem is they've picked a very bad time to be poor with Spurs being good and City on the way by buying to being better than that. Liverpool may well have played their last Champion's League game for a few years, and the players know it.
  21. Be afraid Liverpool fans, be very afraid. Torres is odds on to have played his last game. "Following the news that Fernando Torres is set to miss the remainder of Liverpool's season, having undergone a knee operation, WilliamHill have slashed the odds of the Spaniard never featuring again for the Reds from 7/2 to 8/15. With cash expected to be tight at Anfield this summer, and rumours over the future of the man who brought the striker to the club, Rafael Benitez, Hills are clearly expecting Torres to jump ship during the summer transfer window. The firm's spokesman Graham Sharpe told Bettingpro... 'We believe Torres is an odds-on chance to leave Liverpool before the start of next season'"

Interestingly... of all the countries on that list, which are better to live in than here apparently, only Spain and Malta have lower suicide rates. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_rates
  23. Oooh, a few more I reckon.
  24. Me too. The lift ain't working. :-$

I've visited all three of those places on a number of different occasions. And trust me, England pisses over them.
