I'd have Kenny on an interim basis. In the long term, ideally someone like Pellegrini or Villas-Boas.

Yep, that was written with an open outlook on Liverpool and it's supporters. My other side of the coin view would be expected from a Liverpool fan/or at least someone that can write an article without slagging the supporters of the team off in such a rude manner.
-
I'm struggling to see how that is "the other side of the coin" when the person who has written it clearly has no affinity for Liverpool at all.

Apologies, I was sent it as a copy and paste and was told it was from that paper.

From the Guardian. Pass and move, it's the Liverpool groove? Not any more. The Hodgson way is more hoof and pray. As endless long punts were hammered towards Fernando Torres and David Ngog during last night's defeat to Wolves, it became increasingly impossible to justify Roy Hodgson lasting at Anfield beyond the end of the week. Patience has its virtues, and chairmen can be trigger-happy, but it is hardly compulsory; Hodgson's time is up. He simply has to go. Forget about giving him extra time and the chance to dip into the transfer market in January. Trust has to be earned and Hodgson has failed. Liverpool are perched three points above the bottom three. Losing to Northampton Town, Blackpool and Wolves at Anfield in the space of six months, no matter what financial constraints Hodgson has had to work under, is a grotesque underachievement for a club of Liverpool's elevated standing. For all his complaints about the situation he inherited from Rafael Ben?tez, Hodgson took over a squad containing Pepe Reina, Jamie Carragher, Javier Mascherano, Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt and Torres. Granted, he lost Mascherano to Barcelona but he also willingly parted with Alberto Aquilani, while bringing in the laughable pair of Paul Konchesky and Christian Poulsen. Although Liverpool were average last season, they still finished seventh. With the players at his disposal, Hodgson has introduced an ugly, negative route-one style, which last night saw the defence bypassing the midfield with alarming regularity. These tactics might have sufficed at Fulham, but then Hodgson has often appeared dumbfounded by the level of expectation at Anfield. Not only is this approach unforgivable against Wolves, who were bottom of the table before the game and had amassed just one point on their travels all season, it is hopelessly misguided considering the players at Hodgson's disposal. Torres is not exactly Kevin Davies ? he needs the ball played to feet or for him to run on to. He will never beat the likes of Christophe Berra in the air. Torres is a world-class striker being forced to operate like a lower-league journeyman, even if his form has been at that standard since the summer. While Liverpool's players must take some responsibility too, clearly Hodgson has lost the dressing room, if he ever had it in the first place. Under Ben?tez, when Liverpool were losing games at Anfield, teams would brace themselves for the inevitable barrage as they defended their goal at the Kop End, waiting for Gerrard to pop up with a jaw-dropping equaliser. Last night there was nothing. With Wolves, whose sparky, attractive style of play belied their lowly position, required to do the bare minimum, dissent grew among the home supporters. Afterwards Hodgson was critical of the fans, questioning where the "famous support" had gone. He sounded like an away fan mocking a subdued home crowd about the lack of atmosphere. It almost appears as if he is getting his shots in early. Liverpool's supporters already disliked Hodgson. This will be seen as a step too far.

Is White Hart Lane a big pond now?

I heard that Cole had been lined up for a while. More to do with Purslow I think. I was looking for odds on that last night quids.

It won't come right under Hodgson. How the man can have the audacity to slate the squad he inherited when the only two players he personally signed are Konchesky and Poulsen is laughable. I don't like not liking Roy. Keef's right, it's not the Livepool way but he still has to go. We always get behind our managers and yes he's not had it easy, it's just the shite that he spouts in his press conferences that really grates on me. His latest comments underline that.
-
I think that Hodgson for England is a fair shout. The "Liverpool way" is to fight for something you believe in. I don't believe that we should be 5 points off the relegation places. Remember, our last manager was sacked as 7th wasn't good enough. Hodgson appears to be aiming for a mid table finish and some people think thats okay?

The usual mate of a mate stuff, however this person has yet to be wrong.
-
8 of the players on the pitch tonight were involved in the 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid. A poor squad, but hardly a poor first 11. Remember though. "Roy was brought in to steady the ship as his predecessor had lost the dressing room." "They'll want to play for someone else" Something is horribly wrong at Anfield at the moment.

Apparently Hodgson has been given the elbow

It's a very weak league this season. We've been absolutely shite, yet we're still not that far from the top.
-
Mightily pissed off with Blackpool. Got 180 miles in to a 250 mile journey yesterday only for them to do the inevitable. The original pitch inspection was supposed to be at midday, but Spirit of Shankly put pressure in them to either call it off or do it earlier. From what I can gather Blackpool was full of Scousers last night. Game is rearranged for 12th January. Are we expecting a heatwave between now and then?

Rafa still has a house on the Wirral. His wife came back last week for Christmas and Rafa is back with her for the La Liga Xmas break. Montse is supposed to be very unhappy in Milan and she is moving back to Caldy permanently with the kids.

It's amazing how differently things are reported by the British press http://english.gazzetta.it/Football/19-12-2010/inter-rules-the-world-so-what-next-712203655900.shtml

I'm friends with his Mrs on facebook. Apparently they've been very unhappy over there. From what I can gather (and not from Montse), he was promised quite a bit and yet again it wasn't delivered. Can't blame him really. I just hope he has a rest now.

Apparently Benitez has left Inter

I have an immense dislike for Allardyce based on his regular snidey comments about the former manager of the club I support. His comments about managing the likes of Real Madrid and other big teams were quite frankly laughable, but just summed up what a plonker he really is. Re the "fat Sam" comment, he's quite commonly known as that. Much as Rafa was/is the "fat spanish waiter", Ferguson is "whiskey nose" and so and so forth. All about terrace chants and harmless ribbing and there is nothing wrong with it.
-
Strange that the only people that seem to like Fat Sam are United supporters. He's so far up Ferguson's arse you can't see where one finishes and the other begins.
-
Not in this instance, but it does happen a lot.
-
I don't see what's wrong with that statement. Allardyce is a snidey horrible man and deserves all he gets. All about opinion of course, which we are all entitled to. My opinion about this thread is that it's a bit like play ground bullying sometimes. Everyone tries to goad Emerson in to a rant and then when it happens you all feign outrage.
