  1. Bravo!
  2. Might just be me: the nextdoor link opens but there is no way of commenting on the post. HP
  3. The peace vigil mentioned above for Kalabe Legesse is being organised by St Antony & St Silas and led by the vicar as the common/park is in the parish. More info here: https://southwarknews.co.uk/news/crime/peckham-rye-park-killing-peace-vigil-to-be-held-in-the-park/?fbclid=IwAR3nIicYgPhW2aRHaqv2MDRk9d-zV5rOupNYPy6z00yI1qgSIMAMlwP1OiA HP
  4. HUMANE traps. HP
  5. Good of you to look out for the cat! Looks very glad to be indoors/ being looked after. Sad no microchip. Probably not neutered then(?) and if a male might have wandered and got lost or be a stray? SEL Rescue is a lovely rescue in East Dulwich and might be able to advise? https://www.facebook.com/groups/5352650451481750 HP
  6. Just get over it, for goodness sake! We're on weekend number three of fireworks where I am. This is why people shouldn't just 'get over it', for goodness sake: https://www.rspca.org.uk/getinvolved/campaign/fireworks
  7. Were there any other sightings of this dog? HP
  8. Sometimes local animal charities are interested. Worthwhile seeing them reused. HP
  9. Hi - was there a happy ending? HP
  10. Southwark Council conditions for those hiring Peckham Rye Park and COmmon '8. Waste All event organisers must ensure that the space they are hiring is returned to the state that they find it in at the start of the period of hire. If the Council are required to undertake any cleansing, or reinstatement works that have not been pre-agreed as a consequence of an event taking place, the costs for the works will be recharged to the event organiser.' https://www.southwark.gov.uk/assets/attach/11025/Peckham-Rye-Park-and-Peckham-Rye-Common-site-information.pdf

  12. Hi. Just bussed over to take a look. Council guy there also looking. We could see where the cat had been but its not there now. He said council do check for chips but I reckon this doesn't always happen. I had a quick look in the bins of the nearby house. Hopefully this means it has been found by owner or taken to vet. RIP little kitty. HP
  13. Council wont check for a chip. Anyone local to take to vet? Help to give the owner some closure? HP
  14. SO glad he's back! Such a worry when they go AWOL. Is he neutered and chipped? Less likely to wander if neutered and more likely to be reunited via chip. HP
  15. Worth raising with local councillors? HP

Please people don't do this with cats i.e. bag up for council. Many have microchip and no collar these days. Need taking to a vet and scanning for a chip. Vets can keep for a week or so and post on social media. Gives any owner a greater chance of having closure at least. Councils mostly just bin and don't check for a chip. HP

  19. I hope whoever was responsible reads this thread and fully realises what they've done! V glad he's doing well. Shame the mum can't be relocated to live with her partner once the young have grown, given they mate for life. HP
