Hello there. I think the NCT also offer reduced fees for those who cannot afford the full course cost.

Another Brierley supporter. They were absolutely wonderful when I had my second - bothr through pregnancy and birth. One of them - the lovely Vanessa has gone to The Lanes and I hear good things about them as well. Yes, they would want you to be hoping for a homebirth, but will come with you to hospital if need be and stay with you as long as possible. Also, you may a midwife on hand and I personally always felt that if there was a real problem they would have time to ring ahead to the hospital and the time taken to get an ambulance out and get to Kings would probably not be much different from waiting in the hospital for an operation room to be prepped! THe only REAL issue is to make sure you arrange to try and plan to give birth wherever YOU feel you will be most comfortable and relaxed.

Well said Sue. More than happy to support the Co-op. SOmerfield were CR*P! Found a small toy on Barry Road just down from Barry offlicence towards the park on the ROy Brooks side. HOWEVER, for the life of me I can't remember whether it was a monkey-type thing or not, although was definitely an animal. Propped it on a concrete 'bunker' type thing at the road edge of someone's garden.

Summer Sundae in Leicester's great for kids. In the middle of Leicester but in a park and hall, indoor and CLEAN baby changing and toilet facilities and stuff for kids. Not always the most heard-of bands, but the line ups usually pretty canny with some real gems. Haven't ever camped tho so can't say what that bits like. Small - but perfectly formed!!! http://www.summersundae.com/index.php?cat_id=1&scat_id=1&level=1

Slummy Mummy confessions......
hpsaucey replied to helena handbasket's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Anyone talked about DH crushes??? A few friends say their other halves really fancy Sarah Jane. URGH!!! My other half goes for the Milkshake girls every time - more 'real and earthy' apparently. Mister Makes looks like he'd be a laugh. Or what about that guy from Doodle Do - bet he'd be good fun for a few pints down the pub at least! -

Such a bonkers comment it cannot be serious???? Come on SCSB79 - provide some more ammo for us!!! Never been caught short after a few pints??? -
Victoria To London Bridge Train Service (2012)

Well - just sent my letter. ANd, yes, it only took a minute. If all EDF readers sent one in could make a difference! -
woman asking for money door to door
hpsaucey replied to Cam123's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Had the same. My mum bought sandwiches for some girls begging for food - this was in Leicester. They took them and as we walked away we saw them throw them in the bin! Maybe they had food allergies etc. but to chuck them away ... -

HHm - there's a guy outside Londis. Last time I saw him he said he needed money for a ticket somewhere. Knew it was phoney but decided to give benefit of the doubt. When I gave him a quid (I'm pretty skint at the mo) he just said 'Is that all?'. I was pretty p***ed off! Do you mean the ladies outside Somerfield - are they the ones that get into a car at the end of the day??? Guess no law against having a car but I don't think I could afford to run one at the minute. I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt but there are a lot of scammers out there giving real Big Issue sellers and those in genuine need a bad name. H -
HI there. I'd love to come along too. I've done both hospital and lovely home birth so can comment on both and the differences between them if useful????? Are you still meeting on Thursday? Helen

Take a virtual tour of the new Harris Academy
hpsaucey replied to Reg Smeeton's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Why shouldn't they use the park??? I can see there could be potential problems but surely if there were rules in place then there shouldn't be unmanageable 'problems'. What sort of image of our youth do we have when we assume that they're going to cause problems. Isn't the park there for everyone to enjoy??? -
Can I second legalbeagle. Why so suspicious silverfox???? I've seen some horrible things - they do happen you know - and it does sound to me as though poor jaws is in shock and needing to write on EDF as a way of dealing with it. Give her a break!!!

Breast Milk STINKS...............apparently
hpsaucey replied to FatherJack's topic in The Family Room Discussion
AND, even worse, the guy did this to a Mum, baby and child old enough to maybe understand what was going on and get upset by it!!!! I'm SO SO angry. Given some of the staff in there may have their own idiosyncracies but surely this DOES NOT excuse such behaviour! Will offer any support needed. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you localmama! -
Hello there. Can I second. this. I've been along as well and thoroughly enjoyed it. Karen's a great teacher and is really sensitive in tailoring her classes to her students. Also, with the Vinyasa class it all builds up slowly so that by the end, when you're nicely warmed up, you'll find yourself completing sequences which hadn't been easy at the beginning of the class. Really, really enjoyable. Also, its a beautiful venue. Massive dance studio overlooking Peckham Rye park - so a great view too!

Good question. Also, I'd like to know if you know which side of the park he comes from? Might help to track him down.

Filling in forms online for primary school place - help!
hpsaucey replied to emc's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I did it on year last year and applied for both Lewisham and SOuthwark. I seem to remember using the same log in etc for both as there was a generic 'gateway' web page and you could create new applications for different local authorities there and log back in to check/alter details etc. Good luck! Helen -
Well said Gubodge. I had an unbearably painful first labour for various reasons including posterior baby and involving epidural and forceps in the end. I felt guilty afterwards, hearing how other people had apparently coped with their labour. THEN, I had my second labour - no pain relief and, almost, no midwife present. Painful yes but an enjoyable experience with manageable pain. Just goes to show, all labours and births are different. You can never judge someone else's pain or experience!

Car left running stolen on Friern Road under owner's nose
hpsaucey replied to agathoise's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Blyme - a bit harsh sandperson! I try to be green and don't drive but use public transport but don't suppose someone leaving their car running for a few minutes is exactly uncommon so it seems a bit unfair to judge them on this? If you drive I hope yours is electric or uses biofuel or someone might criticise! Second the thank goodness no child/pet in the car. -
Totally agree mrs.lotte!!! I looked around Bellenden and was very, very impressed by the school's ethos, head and the evident care taken of and nurturing of the children there. If it was one of my nearer schools I would have no hesitation in putting it first ahead of St Johns - and yes, I looked around there as well. Ofsted only provide a partial picture, with a tendency to concentrate on ticking boxes rather looking at the actual performance and welfare of the children? Go visit some schools - you'll soon work out which are likely to better suit your child, and you may find that the school you pick surprises your preconceptions. I

Cat killed by dog on Oakhurst Grove - 22 November (Lounged)
hpsaucey replied to Meredith's topic in The Lounge
Hope for the sake of everyone and the dog that the RSPCA take it away from its owner. Why some people are allowed to carry on looking after 'pets' after behaviour like this absolutely amazes me! Libra Carr, do you think the RSPCA will crack down on the owner and take the dog into their care? -
What to do if suspect neighbour mistreating a child
hpsaucey replied to ymenik21's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Well said Pugwash. We live in communities and should feel a responsibility and duty of care to look out for those around us who are vulnerable and need protecting. If their own carers are unable to do this for them then we MUST help. I would like to think that other people would feel the same responsibility and 'look out' for my children in the same way if necessary. -
Hi there - I have a 'Weeride' which fits in front of your seat and perches in its own bar that is attached to the seat post and handlebar post. Think that would get around the frame problem? I\ll send you a link if you need one? Usde to only be available fomr the Us but they've started selling in the UK now.
