  7. BBC website confirms "Mr Arsenal" has been sacked. Good luck for the future Big Tone. BBC also say Toad of Toad hall, sorry, Avram Grant is being lined up as a replacement. I'm surprised Tony took the job on. The jowly one pissed off to spurs and Jordan jumped like a rat from a sinking ship, they sell all their best players, and wonder why thay are struggling. As always the manager takes the blame, even if the board need shooting and the players play like c**nts.

  12. F**kin' Eboue, he's a liability. Still, Spurs couldn't beat us with only ten men, but that's small comfort. So much for the return of the prodigal son, Keane.

He has been scoring some beauties, as have his team who will be THE team to beat in the Champions League. I'm glad to see people make comments based on recent knowledge and robust research.
  14. Sorry? Did not make it at Barcelona?? He is till there. Do you watch Spanish football, are we talking about the same guy, have you seen the goals he has scored for them this season, or are you just yanking my chain?? I think it's the latter either that or you're a footballing philistine. Calm Down, Calm Down.

  16. I must say I'm surprised at some of the comments on this thread, someone calling Spurs, Spuds (I thought that was just me!!) and another forumite asking "does anyone really like Spurs". What is the world coming to??

Isn't capitalising on celebrity cultue merely helping to perpetuate it?

A friend of mine calls him a > "sunshine" player...maybe not one to rely on when > really needed. This I've heard before, and I don't agree by a country mile!! I remember the sublime goals he scored against Man U, back to goal with Irwin behind him, one touch, and volleys the ball into the net. Was that not a BIG game? The goal he scored against Chelsea at higbury after 1 minute etc etc etc etc etc, I could go on but the problem is I'd be wasting my breath. Or How about When Arsenal were losing against Liverpool at Highbury in the unbeaten season and he beat the whole of the defence and socred. Were none of these aforementioned big games??? If ther weren't it doesn't say a lot about the opposition. Sunshine player my Arse!!! There you go you've pissed me off, you wouldn't let it lie!!! Or how about when we were 2 nil down against Villa at Highbury (season 2001 - 2 I think it was) and he scores in the final seconds for us to win 3 - 2. Give me strength. I'm starting to resort to my old ranting ways which I don't like. Try to balance your arguments before making such sweeping statements. "Sunshine Player" Indeed!!

Yes Jah, Bergkamp seemed to inhabit a different planet to the others on the pitch. He made everything he did look so simple, and effortless. It's not just what he did when he had the ball but the vision he had off the ball. I always told my son since he was 6 years old when we wnet to highbury, to watch Bergkamp not just when he had the ball but to watch his movement off of it. Truly magnificent, deceptively powerful, but always graceful.
