  1. One does one's best LOL!
  2. felt-tip Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Just over ?2000... > BUT the savings on rent would be negated (to an > extent) on either a season ticket or a shiny new bike A ?2000+ season ticket would last a year (and its cost would, in all probability, rise further in future years), whereas a new bike would last a great deal longer. You could purchase a new bike and use it in conjunction with your current Vespa. I think, given the horrific cost of public transport etc., that you might just about be justified in buying a new one. Any "negation" in terms of rent savings would only apply for 3 months. How many years would you retain a new bike for, thereby saving how many multiples of ?2,000+ in public transport costs? If I were so much as half as fit (and willing) as you to undertake such a commute by bike, I would go for the new bike.
  3. What did you mean by that, Scribe?
  4. But how much would an annual season ticket from WOT to Central London cost you?
  5. > I suppose the answer to your question is you can't > measure uncertainty. To measure implies a known, > or agreed, standard of measurement. Uncertainty, > by definition, can't be quantified. You mean like infinity?
  6. That, to me, does not sound like a commute: more like training for the Tour de France. It would take you forever - no?
  7. That'll teach you not to use the toilet!
  8. Oh go on, let him play. Be nice (for a change). Not his fault if your ineptitude means you've lost his entry.
  9. It's OK VBC. Was just attention seeking to see whether anyone cared. Thank you. MWAH.
  10. *shoots herself in the head*
  11. > Ah, now I know. The clue is in the question. You > think someone has entered the 2nd round who wasn't > in the first. > Am I right? Correct.
  12. > And I didn't mean to sound so down on the place > earlier - especially after Weegee has made the > effort to organise! I know that Sean: just didn't want Narnia to feel excluded (or you - for that matter!!!):))
  13. *picks up toys and replaces in pram* Even though the game has already started, can a new poster join in at any time? Give me strength!
  14. Just for you Narnia, I have just spoken to Graham (Manager at Liquorish). He has told me that, as Weegee has reserved the front area of the bar, this area will have the music sound set at a much lower level than at the back of the bar, where it is more lively. He also stated that Liquorish will be aiming for a restaurant atmosphere at the front (where the drinks will be taking place) in order that people can hear themselves speak. I also took the liberty of asking him if, for some reason, we found the music too loud for our tastes, they would be willing to turn down the volume. The answer was a categorical "Yes, absolutely...it's your night". In other words, Graham is willing to bend over backwards to ensure everyone is happy on the night. Hope this helps.
  15. Oh, and could someone confirm whether or not Liquorish serves wine and whether Narnia needs to bring his own bottle and straw. Are we done now?
  16. Please could someone answer Narnia's question ASAP. Only he is currently throwing toys out of his pram in most violent fashion on another thread. Furthermore, he has threatened to continue doing so until someone answers the above question! Lord have mercy!
  17. Cheeky git! Funny though!
  18. Narnia, as the inventor of this brilliant game, I have to ask: is one allowed to join after the first round? Is so, then how can it really be last wo/man standing? Just nit-picking. Ta Ta...
  19. Cycling and chatting on phone?
  20. PERHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  21. *falls off chair laughing* Sorry brum.
  22. > I am flattered. ( should I be ? ) I, too, have been called Hyacinth by some cheeky whippersnapper on here...as to whether you should be flattered...I don't know...it could have been worse though...
  23. > Anyone representing the unfit and seemingly deaf > attending? You are welcome to come too, Narnia :))
  24. *calls out to Admin.* Any chance of making this a "sticky" please, Admin? Thank you. Edited to insert a question mark.
