  1. When "Insepector Sands" is called for in the train station this is the same thing - getting help without causing panic.

  3. I have put my love film account on holiday after getting only 2 discs in September. I told the lady at love film it wasn't because I was unhappy with them but because of the strikes and she said that loads of people are ringing up and doing the same. This must be really hurting a lot of businesses who cannot afford it right now what with the recession.
  4. I don't think the problem is the trains per se, but more that people have chosen to live in these areas as the train line serves where they need to go (at least that is why I am in this area, can't claim to speak for everyone). Radically changing the trains means that it no longer serves the people who live here in the same way it did previously. This will benefit some and but is likely to inconvenience far more people than it will benefit.
  5. I was nearly rammed off the road by a lorry earlier this summer. I was in my lane dressed in my customary bright yellow gear and was quite obviously there. He just continued to drive along at speed and didn't try to take any care whilst barging past me. One wobble to the right and I would have been squished. Anyway, I managed to get his number plate and rang the metropolitan police's non-emergency number 0300 123 1212 and they put a tag on his vehicle which means he would have been stopped and spoken to. They were very helpful and not at all dismissive of my report, I would recommend ringing them in these sorts of indcidences.

I'm glad you use the Elephant and Castle bypass now mrs f, I would never in a million years want to cycle around that roundabout and it scares me watching people do it when I'm on the bus going around there. I would encourage more people to use it, it may take a tiny bit longer but you are more likely to arrive at your destination unscathed.

If you are doing a petion Treetoad I will support you! There are some nutters around here unfortunately who do go too fast and don't allow enough room when over taking and it can be a little scary at times.
  8. I was actually thinking about the crossing problem on Lordship Lane the other day when I was filling in a survey for Living Streets (they are trying to make streets more people friendly and to get people out and about more on them by foot rather than by car). I filled in the survey naming Lordship Lane and how it is pretty dangerous to cross the road. For a road with so many shops there are disappointingly few crossings and there is a big gap between the zebra crossing at the roundabout and the next crossing up by Iceland. Surely there should be more frequent crossings then there already are? If anyone else is interested in filling in the survey it can be found at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=54yqRjec75xdxPL1toXZUQ_3d_3d not sure if they will be able to do anything for us, but it might be worth a try!
  9. I have had to register in order to place this comment. Quite frankly I am disgusted at some people on here. Someone died and that is terrible and your thoughts should be with his family right now as mine are. You shouldn't be making nasty snide remarks about postcodes, house prices etc it is insensitive. I live in SE22 and I do think it is shocking it has happened but at the end of the day these things can happen anywhere. Now stop being so horrible and show a bit of sensitivity.
