Just adding my endorsement of Russell to this thread. He's been busy, and it was a bit difficult to get hold of him but we knew he was the man for the job. This call out was to fix a problem with our flat roof. Russell always arrives promptly, is ready to go and efficient. I was recently introduced to Whitewood Scaffolding by our Roofer. Mark and his team provided a great service. They were prompt, quick, competent and courteous. I approached Steve Evans based on this recommendation - our issue was also related to a flat roof - and I thought he was thoroughly decent. He was responsive (it was a leak so we didn't want to hang about), arrived when he said he would and didn't try to oversell a solution we didn't need. This autumn we needed to replace the roof to the back our terrace property and also wanted to put a velux skylight in over our bathroom. I looked up RJP Roofing (Russell) who previously tiled our front roof 8 years ago. Once again, Russell did an excellent job. He was prompt every morning and he and his team worked hard. He did a very professional job to deliver: new coping stones and rendering underneath, new roof, addition of velux (fully plastered inside) and smart new guttering. We found FS Scaffolding via this forum and have been pleased with the service received. We had scaffolding put up front, back and around the chimney stack. The price was competitive. Charlie was courteous, flexible to our timetable and turned up promptly when needed.

I would like to second the recommendation for Doug Hathaway. Doug did a lot of work for us as part of a building project including skirting, built-in closets and shelving. We have been really pleased with the end results which demonstrate his quality joinery skills. I found Doug keen to listen to us, ensuring our needs were being met in the design. He was very conscientious when working, making sure things were tidied up. He worked carefully to minimise disruption to family life and was very considerate of the kids.
