  1. All I am running an event in Bromley this weekend and have a number of complimentary tickets to give away. For one weekend only, Bromley?s Westmoreland Road car park will become London?s most unusual cinema. Choose from a selection of classic films screened in a totally alternative environment with your own personal headset that cuts out all the outside noise, popcorn crunching, mobile phone ringing and general cinema chatter. Thursday 7 July, 7pm ? Mamma Mia Friday 8 July, 7pm ? The Bourne Identity Saturday 9 July, 3pm ? Finding Nemo Saturday 9 July, 7pm ? Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl Sunday 10 July 3pm ? Toy Story You can park at the venue and there are deck chairs - bean bags and carpets for the kids to lounge on. Gourmet hot dogs, popcorn and a beer (if the mood takes you) are available to buy. Email: [email protected] with the screening you would like to attend and the number of tickets (max. 5)
  2. So they had 80 applicants as first choice and have 80 places...that seems a bit perfect?
  3. I've been looking too for a while I sont see there is anything locally. We go to RugbyTots (rugbytots.co.uk) in Kingston on a Saturday afternoon, but they do have sessions in Gambado's Chelsea during the week and other places. It is really great.
  4. I echo the awful experience with SELDOC. I had violent stabbing pains in my left side. Described to SELDOC, who first told me I had food poisioning, then after me screaming that it wasnt, then prescribed me over the phone pain killers. Thought that just wasnt right and went with my gut instinct and called Kings A&E, was there within 15 mins (on the bus!) and within an hour was having an emergency operation to remove a very large ovarian cyst. Would never trust them again.
  5. I had a real problem actually booking a flight (singapore Airlines I think)for my unborn baby as we didnt know the sex or name of said child. This was five years ago, but you need to check this with Virgin too. Totally agree with all tips above. I was on a full flight and was fairly embarrassed (and squashed with not much elbow room either) having to BF I asked staff if I could use their seat, and they let me sit in business class to feed...needless to say the poor baby was full to bursting by the end of the flight!
  6. Been taking my 4 year old son to Thailand/Singapore since 4 months old. Kids cope far better in the heat then the adults do. Access to a swimming pool is a must however.
  7. I can see 185 bus southbound (camberwell termination), ambulance and Clarkes coach been sat on L Lane now by Heber Road for over 30 mins, not moving.
  8. I live near junction of LLane and Crystal Palace Road. There have been no buses past my window for 45 mins now in southbound direction. Car traffic is really struggling and at virtual standstill in both directions.
  9. The chap who answered my call this morning from the Sylvester Road sorting office said he was sorting parcels/packages for delivery today that are post-dated the 18th September. There is hope.
  10. I thought I'd share an extract from the email I received having asked the school similar questions as have been posed here: "We reluctantly had to choose to hold the Gala Opening on a Sunday because that was the only day when actors and actresses are free, and a main focus of the evening was to include our acting alumni and parents. Mindful of the fact that this was a Sunday evening, we booked the firm on the clear understanding that it should be just a fire and light display with absolutely no fireworks of the ?bang? variety, and indeed that the emphasis would be on visual impact, rather than noise....Like you, however, I was dismayed by the accompanying and unexpected noise from the fireworks. Unlike some local schools and organisations, Alleyn?s does not have regular fireworks displays, and it was the first such event of this kind in my 7 years here as Headmaster. As a local resident myself I am only too aware of the disturbance from loud displays which take place locally with regularity and no warning. It was for reasons of courtesy that we informed adjacent houses of our display, and I apologise that it was so much noisier than we had anticipated. We have no intention to repeat such a display; this was a very special one-off evening for the Alleyn?s community to celebrate the conclusion of this major building project."
