    Earth Hour

not that easy when trying to get dinner on the go and keep the kids happy. As it is most of our lights are energy saving bulbs and unnecessary lights are usually off. we're pretty good on energy saving in this household - stingy you see. As the peeps who have organised the earth hour say it's more of a symbolic gesture. By all accounts other cities have really gone to town with it (scuse the pun)

In re. Earth Hour. I did actually switch all the lights off for that hour and use candlelight instead. It was nice. (left the telly on obviously!)

If the clocks remain at summer time it won't get light until after 9am in southern Scotland and as for the north.... I suppose Scotland could have its own time zone
  7. PeckhamRose, I am not casting any aspersions on your driving skills, but don't you think the fact that your insurance company had to pay out means that you were in the wrong and not the cyclist?
  8. You would have to doubly careful in that situation PR for exactly the reason you state, and quite right that you should. The lorry driver would be in the wrong for flashing to let you go. I suppose maniac is a little strong though. 10. Well then, it is irrelevant that it has been like that for years and I claim 10 points
  11. It doesn't matter if it's been like that for years if you are new to the area

  14. saw a car chase on LL this pm, they came screaming out of one of the side roads, the one where the tyre shop was. a 20mph zone wouldn't have slowed them down! where I used to live in Kennington was a 20mph zone but I think it was a 'suggested' speed rather than enforced.
  15. I'm not
  16. well, you'll have to show your face at the next drink and see if any of us recognise you.
  17. I'm with JB there.
  18. Americans are caught between a rock and a hard place, woman? or black man? if they don't watch it McCain will slip in quietly while no ones looking.
  19. I went to a fantastic party in City Hall many moons ago - before it got done up. sorry, changing the subject.. Never seen a Locale
  20. have you nailed the rest of the alphabet then?
  21. Oh, I've just realised what it is.
  22. hahahaha LOL in internet speak
  23. Snorky, the cookwank shop (I assume you mean Green Cuisine) and Moo two are both "local" shops. Just because they don't sell things you want doesn't mean they don't sell useful stuff. Personally I think Green Cuisine is a good shop and I have no objection to Moo two. If people want to but Marrimeko baby gros why shouldn't they? Frankly I think it's pretty cool that we can buy that shit locally if we want it.
