  1. This is totally unacceptable, however, I have now got a nice image in my head of a labrador building a sand castle...
  2. I?ve signed the petition... These lads cleaned up a derelict wasteland and turned it into something positive. There?s some real community spirit at the grove diy. It?s a good thing. Will be a shame to have it destroyed only to turn back into a wasteland.
  3. That?s good to know. I thought it was a requirement to wear wetsuits. I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It?s a really nice place to swim.
  4. There?s Divers Cove bear Godstone, which will require membership and wetsuits but very nice. Or the river Medway. If you search for Ensfield Bridge near Tonbridge. Apparently good spot for wild swimming but yet to try it out.
  5. I got rid of my old vacuum cleaner because it was just gathering dust.
  6. This happened to me a few years back. I parked in the multi story before it was turned into the levels and took my Nan up to Franks Cafe. She was in a wheel chair at the time and had been quite poorly. The machine was broken and the car park was practically deserted. I got a fine, appealed and lost the appeal! They said there are other machines in the car park that I could have used... On the plus side, my Nan had a wonderful time up there and I have some very happy memories. She's now passed away.
  7. Yeah we do deadlock our vans and engineers try not to leave stuff in the front on show but sometimes they forget, especially when we?re so busy at the moment. In last nights case they smashed the window and tried to unlock the back for tools but the engineer had deadlocked it so they just grabbed his bag instead, which he had left on his seat. It was just some personal stuff like gym clothes I?m told. The problem is people are chancers. ?No tools on van sign? probs let wouldn?t deter them. Unfortunately...

More accurate figures > could give police additional resources. All reported apart from theft of ladders because in that incident the engineer forgot to chain them to the roof bars.
  9. In our company we have had 2 vans broken into and tools stolen from the back. One attempted break in with holes drilled into the back doors. One set of ladders stolen off the roof bars and this morning, one of our engineers woke up to discover his front window smashed and sat nav / bag stolen. All of these incidents have happened over the last 12 months. We're a family business. This is really upsetting.
  10. You can check crime stats at www.police.uk Click on find your neighbourhood, put in your postcode and explore the crime map... There will presumably also be crimes that haven?t been reported to the police but this should give you an idea...
  11. Just a few more signatures required to reach the 2000 target ✍🏼
  12. I work in the security industry and my honest advice is to steer clear of Verisure. I've heard they can give a hard sale, they don't offer policed monitoring, there is no external siren and there are expensive ongoing costs compared to most alarm companies. They do a cheap install followed by expensive ongoing monthly payments. (Sorry SBPy) If you need alarm work carried out I recommend using a local NACOSS Approved company. You can search around online, ask friends and neighbours or check on nsi.org.uk. good luck! (sounds like this issue is resolved now anyway) - (edited to say sorry to SBPy and also to say I'm not in the habit of slagging off other companies but having worked in the industry for many years I feel uncomfortable with the way Verisure go about there business) I have heard quite a lot of negative feedback from my customers. Just being honest...

I know I?m just messing. I just got back from Madrid. I love popping into a bar for a pint and a bit of tapas. Got tapas on the brain. Will try Maria?s Tortilla soon. 💃🏽

  15. I never tried pizza pickup but saw they had a sandwich board outside saying they were voted best pizza in London on trip adviser or something along those lines... Was meaning to try it at some point. I like Voodoo Rays. It's quick, good variety of pizzas, easy and tasty!

However, I?ve never seen them anywhere else and was told there was a bed bug infestation before I moved moved in. Anyway, they hide out in little nooks and crannies in wood. They can survive for up to 18 months without food according to one article I read, however the science is hard to prove. They feed only on blood! Gross... anyway, I?m kind of homeless now crashing at my parents house. All my possessions are in bags zipped up waiting to be treated by me, when I get the chance. And to top it off I can?t sleep because it?s freaking me out. They lay eggs. If you leave clothes on floor or s bag or something they can crawl on it and lay eggs or hide on them etc to transfer to a new gaff... buggers.
  17. That's interesting. I heard they are hard to get rid of. I'm in rented property. Landlord paid for pest control who did a treatment in 1 day. I moved out for a couple of weeks because it was freaking me out. I tried to stay there again the other night. Same mattress, same bed, same furniture etc. I put a zipped mattress protector on that's supposed to help. Anyway, I woke up at 1am itching like hell. I was bitten to shreds again. Turned the light on to see loads of little bugs bugs crawling all over the bed. It's really freaking me out. I had to take a shower, drive to my parents, bag up my clothes, etc... They are gross.

    Bed Bugs

Oh boy these little buggers are making my life hell!
  19. Wow - That is unbelievable. That person's thought process must have been like, "Ooh, I can make a bit of money here by blackmailing the victim" Insane (SE22CAT pretty much sums it up)
  20. I didn't like Sea Cow. I ordered large haddock and chips once. Got home to discover 2 measly haddocks squashed together! Cheeky. Rosie's is pretty decent but again I ordered rock once and I noticed the fish smelled like ammonia so I couldn't eat it. I guess not that many people order the rock? edit to say I've been to Rosie's loads and it's usually decent.
  21. Going by what the OP wrote, it sounds feasible that this could have been a mistake. If so it?s a bit harsh calling him a dirtbag and accusing him of fraud. That said, I wasn?t there so don?t know if he came across aggressive in anyway. Given that the OP didn?t mention that he was aggressive in anyway I?m assuming not.
  22. I might pop to Londis and get some popcorn for this thread.
