  2. Lovely vintage pale apple green and gold 12 piece tea set (11 cups) with sugar bowl and milk jug £20
  3. Vintage 80s set of six coffee cups and saucers, in perfect condition (apart from scruffy box) £15.
  4. Lovely retro phones. One red vg condition, one black slightly scratched, £15 for the pair.
  5. Free to collect from near N Dulwich station
  6. It's such an uneven provision, I live just west of E Dulwich towards Herne Hill/Dulwich Village and there are four Post Office counters within 10 mins walk max. They are all in local shops and provide a great service.
  7. Malumbu makes some good points re the value of 'charisma' in a leader, it can be a dangerous thing. Starmer, from reports I have read, is not good at taking the party with him, there's not enough consultation with or listening to his back benches. More consultation might have avoided some of his mis steps... I don't think we should be replacing him for the reasons already stated. Also agree with Vladi, potentially the asset rich/income poor older people are vulnerable, but don't think they're not up for protesting – check out the number of pensioners arrested on the Palestine Action protests!
  8. I'm confused now, your link illustrates the size of exports quite clearly?
  9. In support of Sue, I don't see that the very long article about some appalling examples of antisemitism in medicine has any relevance to her choice to march on Saturday. Wanting to stop the killing of innocent civilians is hardly antisemitic. I was appalled that Shabana Mahmood called last weekends protest in Trafalgar Square un-British, I can't think of anything more British that sitting in silent vigil with people of all ages and faiths to call for freedom of speech on this matter. It didn't mean people weren't horrified by the Manchester attack, or the events on 7 October.

  11. Agree, the merlin app is really useful, especially if you are bird spotting somewhere like Greendale where it's much easier to hear birds than see them! Once you've learnt a call you can look out for the bird... Sue – I saw a pair of long tailed tits in East Dulwich Grove yesterday : )

  13. Have you looked at Dawson's Heights? Service charges were very fair last time I looked (two years ago admittedly), and they're well maintained with the best views in London : )
  14. I got caught on a Bank Holiday monday, I assumed it would be treated as a weekend, horrified – I did appeal but got nowhere.

  19. Agree Sue, it's a bit of local history... used to love that place.
  20. We have bees nesting in our chimney, which is currently being repaired by builders who aren't bee enthusiasts... any beekeepers out there with any suggestions re what to do? Can they be moved?

  22. Personally I think this is a terrible idea which affects the people who need help the most. There is a public consultation, info at https://www.londontravelwatch.org.uk/ticket-offices-have-your-say/ As far as I can see you have to contact each network separately which isn't great, but worth letting them know what you think.
  23. Yes I got caught too, had no idea about this new restriction! there don't seem to be any advance warnings either which I've seen in other locations. I was heading South down Adys Road and just didn't see the sign at all. I don't think there's much point in appealing but I will raise the issue of poor signage.
  24. Kids playing on the astroturf behind the Hamlet football ground, or people hanging out in that s[ace before it disappears under flats. And of course Dulwich Hamlet on a match day! Streams of people in DH scarves etc, always a great atmosphere.
