EDmummy101 replied to Adam's topic in The Family Room Discussion
www.nimblearts.co.uk are also running a virtual club (with some live zoom sessions) for ages 4-11 yrs - they need lots of support at the present time, as unable to run the actual camp this summer so losing lots of income. Thanks lovely ED people :) -
What a shame, my boys went there and loved it! So handy in terms of location too

Albrighton Community Centre also offers food donations to locals / families in need, so worth donating there also, Thanks -

I agree - my mum struggled with this at one point when supermarket delivery slots were hard to come by. Could possibly enlist local charities to assist too? LinkAge do a marvellous job for example If people wish to help I would suggest joining LinkAge or similar as a telephone befriender - that means more support for the elderly and more response when they need something, whether food or medicine etc.

Self isolation ideas for children?s entertainment
EDmummy101 replied to yeknomyeknom's topic in The Family Room Discussion
There is an excellent Facebook group full of ideas and inspiration - called 'Family Lockdown Tips and Ideas' https://www.facebook.com/groups/871176893326326/ -
Sharing this as the theatres and arts are really struggling at the moment, so this is a way for them to make money and offer some activities for children especially those not going to school at the moment. https://www.shakespearesglobe.com/learn/ You can also stream some Shakespearean plays. Website is full of amazing resources!

I'd definitely be up for a petition.. we have some great local councillors who I am sure we could persuade to be supportive, along with Helen Hayes MP who is very very proactive in many ways on different issues. We also have the fab Caroline Pidgeon Lib Dem rep living in the area and other famous bods like Jenny Eclair, Cathy Newman from Ch4 news and others, I wonder if we could get support on social media too :)

Lots are under utilised - one on our road has 2 empty spaces but when I emailed Cycle Hoop they confirmed they do not monitor usage, so if someone pays for the year they have the space for the year, even if they move away or sell their bike for example. I really feel there should be more monitoring by Cycle Hoop but not sure how we would put pressure on / change their mind so they took this action. I have had 2 spaces on various road lists for 18 months and still 67 on my road and 17 is the highest up I am on a nearby road. I wonder if the council might be more prepared to install some cycle stands like this one as they take up less space and can be easily mounted on the pavement: https://www.thebikestoragecompany.co.uk/product/the-sheffield-cycle-stand-galvanised/?gclid=CjwKCAjw8df2BRA3EiwAvfZWaH9Ebmu4AC3IRf_DNweOTO5bHWA1O4hSNk0iQBcjS6_fl8_u_xJNzRoCga8QAvD_BwE
