  1. I love mine. My one tip would be to make sure that you get window locks, so that you can keep them open a few inches at night. I had no idea this was an option and really regret not getting them.
  2. If you do have them and the previous owner knew, they should pay for treatment. Absolutely insist. Council a good bet, they mostly charge per room.
  3. You may already know this but just in case, make sure that they remove the bramble and perennial weeds before rotavating otherwise you are simply propagating and producing many more.
  4. I thought that I had these a few years ago and got stupidly obsessed on Google. It turned out that I had only dust mites after having my windows changed and dust raised. If you look in the creases around the edge of your mattress you will see dirt and droppings if you have them. I hope for your sake it's just fleas as another pest. You can get rid of them but it's a process and you need to sleep there during treatment in order to act as bait. Good luck.
  5. The endless gratitude that they get must be really rewarding. They got rid of a rat for my friend and she was ecstatic.
  6. There is someone always recommended on here if you search. It is a specialist job.
  7. Lilac suckers tend to have the same leaf though. If this thing flowers I can have another go if it's still unidentified.
  8. It might be a sucker from a tree root. In the first picture it looks like it's been cut back to that level before. Are there tree roots nearby?
  9. I walk past it sometimes rushing to get to work. It looks lush, I will make more of an effort to enter.
  10. The fake owl will only fool them for a while, same with CDs etc. Trick is, other than netting, spikes etc, is to alternate all the DIY remedies. They get used to ruses and finally figure them out. It all depends where they are roosting.
  11. Yes, Blackbird Bakery do a flourless choc cake, gorgeous.
  12. There's a few of them there http://www.fisonfitness.co.uk/teachers/. I can recommend Anne, Sam and Jeremy (in no particular order). I do their classes, Jeremy is my current favourite and have found my abs and strength again which feels pretty good at my age...
  13. Tonnes at the Herne Hill Market of a Sunday, if you are in the area.
  14. I watched the video and did it myself. But anyone you hire could do the same.
  15. I used those on my floor throughout my flat. Most, 95%, are still in place 7 years later and it's much warmer while still letting some air through. You may need to replace a few here and there in heavy footfall areas but it's easy. I really recommend them as most other fillers just fall through the gaps.
  16. Perhaps the quoted cost includes delivery or time taken to collect? It all comes out of a working day.
  17. Something that you might not have thought of is visiting Kew Gardens for inspiration. They sell plants at good prices too, very good quality.
  18. The garden centre next to North Dulwich station is great. The plants are good quality and the prices are reasonable. I read today that Phoebes in Catford is closing down after the summer. Shame.
