Symbiont, 7-16th July Thanks to Everyone who came to the opening night! Come along, we are open till the 16th. We'd love to meet more of our neighbours! Children are more than welcome. Symbiont brings together Sculptures, Paintings and Prints from artist couple Brigid Vidler (winner of the SWELL Sculpture Prize, Australia) and Joel Ely (two-time BP Portrait finalist and winner of the National Portrait Gallery Travel Award) who live in East Dulwich. Symbiosis is the interaction between two organisms living in close physical association, typically, though not exclusively to the advantage of both. A state of symbiosis can have both positive and negative associations.\ The work layers imagery, juxtaposing competing narratives to explore ideas of inter-connectivity and communication. My sister and a close friend had bad teenage acne. They both got prescribed with roaccutane (which unfortunately made my sister vomit). Both of them opted to go on a strict no dairy diet and though it took a while it did wonders for their skin. Good luck, your kid is fortunate that you are taking it seriously.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for mole screening? I grew up in Australia, I have Irish heritage (and complexion) and have spent most of my life watching my parents have various bits burnt off or cut out. Luckily, I have always worn sunblock but I think that my skin is a bit damaged. I went to a GP 2 years ago and they said that they wouldn't look at moles unless they were 5mm in size. I appreciate that the NHS is overstretched so I might need to go elsewhere for an inspection... Can anyone recommend somewhere/someone? I had a google and could only come up with private clinics that charge 250 pounds for an initial consultation. Is this normal? Thanks for your recommendations, Keep well, Brigid

The community centre on Nunhead Green hire their space. From memory the smallest space was 7 pounds per hour.

Hi Neighbours, I am a local artist (illustrator/Sculptor). I had an exhibition at Jeannie Avent Gallery last year. I wanted to share a couple of recent works that I have done. I make work primarily for newborns and kids. I take some biographical details about the parents/friends and family and create a work that relates to the child. The grandparents are represented by the maggies and possums. The parents are the kangaroo and kookaburra. They live near a river called the Campaspe (which along with indigenous names for the waterway are on the unicycle wheel. The new bub is the numbat and their older brother is the Koala. Together they are decorating their new house. The second work 'Island Life,'was drawn in January when things felt a little off.

The Remakery is brilliant!!! I have used their workshop space and have taken a class. It is a brilliant grassroots initiative. They practice what they preach. Re-use, recycle and redistribute.

Does anyone use Now broadband on East Dulwich Road. I am sick of paying through the nose for Virgin and having crap internet.

Hooray for more colour!!!

I am an artist who lives and works locally in East Dulwich. I do illustrations for children (and adults on occasions). I recently finished a mural on a Garage door in Brixton. I completed a similar work last year in Peckham (you may have spotted it off Lyndhurst Way). This work has all the same elements with a slightly different composition and the design of the parakeets has been modified to fit the space. People who passed by commented on loving to see bright and colourful images in the streets. It also solved the problem of graffiti on the garage door. I had some prints (Cat Curl and Cat Groom) in a show at Jeannie Avent Gallery in the lead up to Christmas but it was shutdown with Tier 4. I thought it would be nice to do a give-away on the Forum in time for Valentine's Day. Also, to spread a little joy during these long dark days. Cat Curl is a lino print on cotton paper with hand-painted gold details. Each one is slightly different. (15 x 15cm with mount) Reply to this message in this thread to go into the draw. I will draw it on the 10th of February and deliver it to you taking into consideration social distancing on my daily walk. (I am hoping that you are a local if you are using the forum).
