  1. Hi Sue, Thanks for your kind words. My instagram is biddy_illustration Cheers, Brigid
  2. Hi, My name is Brigid, I live in East Dulwich and I draw original illustrations on a commission basis. An illustration is a brilliant personalised, one of a kind gift. The process is easy. I ask you a series of questions and from you answers I propose a design. We settle on a design, it can be altered and added to at this stage. All prices can be viewed at biddyillustration.com/prices I am attaching a couple of images of works completed recently. The one with the lion was commissioned by a woman for her husband to celebrate their relationship. The one with the tiger was for a newborn from her mum. Her background (Australian/English) is woven into the drawing, her name is Wren. Please get in contact today for an obligation free chat about your ideas. [email protected] I work from Home on East Dulwich Road, East Dulwich
  3. There is a locker Service on East Dulwich road in the petrol station. :)
  4. I have a friend, Matthew Jones who I worked with. He is a great carpenter and has started making bespoke sheds in SE London. He is based in Catford. I think the easiest way to connect would be via instagram @Matthew.jones, he doesn't have a website. Or I could private message you his number if you don't use instagram. Cheers, Brigid
  5. YUM! Are you doing the North Cross Road market?
  6. I think it is currently occupied by Guardians. They were fixing the place up recently. Might be worth wandering over and having a chat. They seem quite approachable. Or alternatively, you could contact the guardian company. off the top of my head I am not sure how they are but there is usually a sign on the building. Cheers, Brigid
  7. Hi Super-T, What type of thing are you looking for? I am an artist and I primarily do illustrations and sculpture. I have done work painting murals with stencils, spray cans and painting with a brush. Last year I did a simple butterfly on a wall for a ballet school (the butterfly is their logo). They wanted an image that kids could take a picture in front of. (see picture attached). I'll also attach an image of my illustration work. It could easily be translated to painting. I have done works using stencils and painting different coloured layers. This could be an option if you are looking for a graphic work. I could send you through images via email. I would be happy to chat to you about your ideas. I am very flexible and looking for projects. I'm on instagram @bid_vid and @biddy_illustration Cheers, Brigid
  8. Hello, I recently had an exhibition at Jeannie Avent Gallery and met some fellow local East Dulwich Residents. I am an artist. I make illustrations for kids (though I they appeal to adults too!). My work is black and white, and is custom hand drawn. I focus primarily on making work as gifts for newborns. An illustration is a great gift that isn't plastic and lasts a long time. You can see samples of my work here biddyillustration.com or in instagram @biddy_illustration I also had sculptural works in the show at Jeannie Avent. Some works were in timber and others were crabs made out of cans and old fabric. I had a couple of people ask me if I would be willing to make their child's old clothes into an artwork or sculpture. I would be more than happy to. Get in contact if you would like to discuss an idea! I am attaching a sample of an illustration commission. The badger is for the English Dad, he is holding an oak leaf for his British heritage. The mum is South Australian, hence the Australian Magpie and vine leaves for the Barossa Valley. The child was born in 2020, represented by the Pangolin and she is a Gemini, the Gemini Constellation is in the sky. On the moon there is a faint outline of a tennis ball as the parents met playing tennis. I came up with these ideas in response to the answers given to simple questions I gave the client. Don't hesitate to contact me. I live in East Dulwich and am happy to meet in a park or cafe to discuss ideas.
  9. IT is not a long term solution but if you need to ease the pain a little lie on your back, with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Your feet need to be a little wider than your hip width and then let your knees fall together. (I hope I have explained that alright). It releases the lower back a bit and stops those electricity pains you can sometimes get when you lie down initially. Good luck :)
  10. It is really grim. I'm an artist and I work making props and doing installations for companies. I am not picky about work but because most of my experience is practical rather than administrative there is very little work about. I have been out of work since the end of March. I had a couple of interviews but between interviewing and a follow up the job disappeared because the companies' situations were precarious. I guess all you need to do is apply, apply, apply. GOOD LUCK! I took a big leap of faith and am putting on an art show currently at Jeannie Avent Gallery (till the 14th). It has been nice to see people out and about in East Dulwich and appreciating being able to go into Art Galleries again. Hopefully, I'll sell some work too!

  14. Hello, I need some A3 images scanned and was wondering if someone could recommend a place which has reasonable pricing. I just got quoted ?15 for 3 scans. Is this normal? I can't afford that much. It is on textured paper so I am not sure how well it will scan. Thanks in advance Brigid

  16. Sorry It is very late but they were open this morning.
  17. HI Wee Quinnie, I am in a similar situation. I've had asthma since I was a kid. While I have for the most part grown out of it, I still do occasionally get flare ups. Luckily I know my triggers (changes of seasons....usually linked to hay fever) and getting sick. It is frustrating feeling strong and wanting to help, but being limited by this. Keep yourself safe! By looking after yourself you won't end up (touch wood) needing medical help, thus HELPING!. I am looking for work that I can do remotely, either on the phone or internet and will post it here if I get any leads. Stay well.
