  1. all I know is that they seem to be a darned sight better than DMC on crystal palace road!! :)
  2. My own personal observation I live near several families with large SUV type cars - which hardly ever move. the families walk to school and around the locality, Their cars appear to be used for the big family holiday trips a couple of times a year and the DIY type trips. Also, I personally know families who have the big car (for driving across europe) and a small electric car for everyday useage. Lucky to be able to afford I know, but again, just because there is a big fat car on the drive, it may not be adding to pollution each day.
  3. Looks like the Plough is having a major makeover! At first I thought they were upgrading the conservatory but it looks a bit more than that now - best of luck to them and look forward to their reopening.
  4. don;t bother contacting the local councilors - they are not interested and refuse to admit there is a problem at all.
  5. Hi there does anyone know a Heather Watson (or watson Heather) in this area - probably a teenager? if so I have something for her
  6. or where in west dulwich they have created a cycle lane outside all the shops (by the orthodontist) and still adults cycle on the pavement!!!
  7. I wonder if there are any people preparing to stand as independant councillors. I feel many of people are very disappointed by the councillors' refusal to acknowledge real concerns about the current roads situation, and their refusal to do anything but tow the official labour council line. As someone has mentioned, they are unlikely to be able to change council policy but I for one would welcome the opportunity of someone willing to speak on behalf of residents and businesses. Always voted labour previously but not again.
  8. they are already blaming central government - its not their fault and they cannot take them out anyway without being financially penalised - funny how other boroughs have taken them out tho......
  9. apologies if this has already been covered, but the concerns of local businesses regarding the impact of LTN's upon them seem to have been justified. In Melbourne Grove, Callows had to move and now it seems the Hairdresser's have shut the branch there. I know they had said that the closed road had seriously impacted upon their trading levels. Bet the councillors have nothing to say about this.
  10. alleyn park garden centre always do lovely trees and deliver as well I believe
  11. According to the council (and the police) there is no CCTV on Lordship lane. TFL have cameras that only record real time for traffic flow so will not have any recording. You could try local businesses with their CCTv - tho this is usually restricted to outside pavement only so unlikely to project as far as the kerb/road. Totally sympathise.
  12. Office space available to rent in West Dulwich - 375 square feet of space available within the Park Hall Business Centre. the Warehouse type space is partitioned, and shared with an easy going and friendly design company - Based in Park Hall Business Centre, there are a myriad of small businesses and includes the Volcano Coffee House Plus meeting/break out spaces are all available for use. ?600 per month If interested please call 07976916318 for an informal chat.
  13. I'm also not getting post..... so annoying as we all knew this would happen when our local sorting office was shut...

    Get over it

thought brexit meant we had loads of money now? whats the problem....
  15. the P13 used to be a shopper hopper type bus that was then moved to the current model. during term time the bus is used by ALOT of school children travelling to dulwich college, kingsdale and elm green - in fact they were often completely full. I remember a thread many years ago about asking TFL to increase the frequency during school times to accommodate the childrens' travel.
  16. Are there any local book swap locations? there is a great little place on etherow street for a take and leave a book thing
  17. Lordship lane businesses suffer as the traffic is so static it makes it difficult to pull over, park and purchase goods (frequently as part of a longer journey) Dulwich suffers as cars are no longer able to drive thru, and purchase stuff as part of their journey. I often would drive thru the village (on the way to visit clients, carrying too much stuff to have on a bike) but I no longer go there. Would love to know how the area managed when the top of lordship lane, turning onto the south cirular coped today with the road closures - what was the alternative route offered? and what on earth was the result if an ambulance needed to get thru?
