Yeah your right, he can do what he wants, but ?5 a pint is too much, I'm not going back.

  2. Doesn't look like it Sue... Still got the same old people who I think are the owners standing around drinking while the bar staff work away.

I guess they just don't care anymore if they are selling up.

  3. Cherry Tree are now charging ?5 a pint of Moretti. Shame, it's my nearest pub and although it's a bit shit, it was our go to pub for a quick pint or two and a whinge after work. I won't be going back though that is a rip off. Custom lost.
  4. I remember a journey back on the last train from London Bridge recently. Some guy was quietly enjoying a rather tasty smelling pasty, and this woman kept on harassing him saying "it stinks, it's inconsiderate, it's rude" he didn't really react, probably like me tends to avoid confrontation, especially when the person was actually getting quite aggressive. Eventually a woman sat on her own shouted, "Leave him alone, I like your smelly food!!"

I found the whole exchange quite funny considering the carriage was practically empty. It's not every day you hear someone shouting "I like your smelly food!" I suppose you had to be there really.

IMO as long as you don't leave you're rubbish on the train or bus then you can eat what you want and people need to lighten up a bit. If you don't like it get a nose plug!!

  5. I picked my girlfriend up from Gatwick earlier and followed the signs for pick up. There are no signs saying you have to pay for pick up until you get trapped into a one way slip road leading to an unmanned toll booth. I was a bit pissed off that I'd been tricked into having to pay for something I didn't realise I had too as there is no sign. So I carefully reversed back out of the one way slip road with my hazards on and drove around to drop off instead...

Does anyone know, if I get a ticket for reversing out, where I stand legally? They don't display the sign saying you have to pay until you're forced into a one way section. It's a con. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

  6. Yeah, fair enough, this particular occasion was a one off, and I did feel it was a bit wrong. I don't plan on burning wood like that again. However, I still think if its a party or family get together I'm within my rights to get the chimenea out again. Special occasion. But I'll only burn good quality kiln dried wood to keep smoke to a minimum. We're only talking maybe once a year. No biggie. Also my house backs onto school playing fields so it's not like we're completely surrounded by houses.
  7. Oh - Should I apologise to my neighbours for smashing my old bike storage shed up and burning the wood in a chimenea a few months ago? In my defence it was a one off, it was winter so no windows were open and my neighbours seem like nice, understanding people, I'm sure they wouldn't have minded. Probably got some entertainment out of it.

I think as long as you don't take the mick and use it all the time it's ok. I quite like the smell of a good fire. I hardly ever use mine as I don't want to upset my neighbours but if I had people round for a party I would get it out again.

Also if you buy proper kiln dried wood from a reputable supplier it will minimise smoke.

  8. Using a spoon made of bone, spoon the caviar onto the back of the hand, then eat it directly off the back of your hand because using a silver or a gold spoon may impair the flavour through oxidisation...

What a load of old tripe! How pretentious do these billionaires wanna be?

Personally I eat it direct from the spoon made of bone with minimal airtime and a whisky chaser.

It seems a bit sacrilegious to go to Hawksmoor and not get a steak but I would like to try one of their burgers.

  10. Lee,

We also have a problem with Vodafone. Somebody fraudulently set up a contract with my girlfriends details. Probably went through our bin for name and address and every time she phones Vodafone they say someone will phone the next day to sort it. Nobody ever phones back and we are getting debt collector letters now! It's really frustrating and annoying to get angry debt collector letters. Not sure what to do about it...

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  11. I've seen these before in garages and sheds. I'm an alarm engineer so find myself in peoples workshops or garages occasionally! However I've no idea what spider it is so no help I'm afraid. They do look impressive.
