You running a book? ps. I would like to state categorically that I am not advocating violence but merely expressing my disdain for a certain journalistic sentiment.
-
What annoyed me most was the tone of David Cox?s article which oozed a certain pompous self righteousness that if presented to me in a social situation would earn the bearer a black eye.
-
I was merely reflecting the sentiment in the initial reaction to Azul?s post. ie that it was rubbish and ill informed etc. Now I think I remember Jimbob to be Irish so his outburst was justified but a lot of the other righteous indignation for what was and opinion was not.
-
Not being Irish or specifically Northern Irish or effected in any way by the issues I cannot comment either way on right or wrong suffice to say that I don?t think the English have the right to an opinion either.

Has the ED housing market reached the bottom yet ( II )
Brendan replied to snorky's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Wouldn?t a good way to calculate it be to look at the market, first time buyers, people looking for a second home, buy to let landlords etc. find out what types of properties each of these groups will be interested in and on average what that group will be able to afford considering the current climate? Surely in general nobody is going to be able to pay more than they have and nobody is going to sell for less than they can get. -

Denmark Hill station would benefit from a few firemen?s poles for quick access to the platforms from the station building. They would relieve congestion on the staircases, help people catch their morning trains and provide an amusing double entendre.

Sieves are particularly difficult things to clean.

In every job I?ve ever had I?ve worked with someone called John.

In my day I had to carry my mum?s people carrier to school and back. 5 miles it was, snowing, uphill both ways and I was barefoot. Kids these days don?t know they?re born.

I blame that South African captain. We?re a bunch of mercenary so-n-sos when it comes to our dealings with the English.

Here?s what I?ve listened to over the last little while whilst working. Started out a bit confused then settled into 90?s teenage americana then got confused again. So does that mean Rodney Dangerfield should be described as Neo-Classical?

Let's go to the wishing well. If it's crap you can all throw stuff at me.

Strawbs says they do something out back for big groups.

I thought we had already decided on the Wishing Well and all this was just sillybuggers. Anyway pretty much what Sean said. Let's try somewhere we haven't been before. That is inevitably going to be somewhere in the border regions as we have been to all the SE22 pubs have been exhausted. So Wishing Well or maybe the Rye? Pheonix? (just to throw a curve ball)

Gentlemen I apologise for not properly stating my position before putting my proposals forward. I am actually the current (and recently appointed) Advisor on Drinking, Imbibing and Consumption to the Social Committee. As I act as ADIC in a purely advisory capacity my activities are not covered in the Terms of Reference of the EDEWPSIG. If in future the Sub-Committee chooses to include the activities of ADIC in your TOR I will of course be happy to be accommodating. For now though I don?t see any reason why our activities cannot be synergouse yet siloed while still maintaining constructive inter-committee communications at all levels up and downstream as well as across on little wooden bridges. As ADIC I would like to invite you to the inaugural meeting of my newly commissioned group the Drinking, Imbibing and Consuming Sub-Committee. At this meeting of DICS your insightful paper ?Evening social interaction: KPIs and SLAs. V1.32? will be tabled as Appendix 4.A to the working, discussion document ?Props/A. todayeastdulwich-tomorrow-aslightlybiggerbitofsoutheastlondon V1.1? Which amongst other things proposes the appointment of and East Dulwich Drinks Czarina.

This seems to be an ongoing and significant issue. I therefore propose that, the Social Committee form a Sub-Committee responsible for the venue rota for the monthly booze up. The Sub-Committee should then set up a Working Group for each month who will submit a shortlist of 3 venues to the Sub-Committee for approval one month prior to the booze up for which they are responsible. The Sub-Committee will then rate the three venues in order of preference before submitting them for approval to the Social Committee. The Social Committee will then commission a Life-Panel for each suggested venue. The Life-Panels will take advice from the other Sub-Committees which will also have to be established such as, The Sub-Committee for Seasonal Affairs, The Sub-Committee for the Availability of Draught Beer, The Sub-Committee for the Variety of Draught Beer, The Wine List and Nibbles Sub-Committee, The Overall Scrumminess Sub-Committee and the Sub-Committee for the Avoidance of Unnecessary Bureaucracy (a sub-committee to an overarching group called The Advisory Panel on Ostentatious Officialdom or A POO) The Life-Panels will them make a final recommendation on the suitability of each suggested venue to the Social-Committee who by this time will have fallen out with everyone and gone to the Wishing Well.

Airships! Airships are the answer. They have figured out how to make them so that they don?t blow up and kill everyone.

Ok so not matter where we go there is still going to be mud wrestling right?

What about the Dulwich Woodhouse?

Surely doing something like maybe shooting everyone who exceeds the speed limited or drives recklessly around our narrow streets would be more constructive?
