Yeah but it was still a good night. As far as I can recall. I wouldn't mind +venture. It's a bit of a negative that they don't do beer (except in a bottle for a million pounds a go) but I will manage for one night. Ps. I am actually going to come to this one instead of just being all opinionated about the venue and then not rocking up. :-$
  2. The Plough? ;-)
  3. Why don?t we do the Dog again? It?s a nice winter pub.
  4. We've tried EDOldie but there were objections. It was all crossed arms and stamping feet and, "The Castle! There is absolutely nothing about that place that can even vaguely be described as yum or scrummy.?

  6. ?His momma called him Cassius Clay. I?m gonna call him Cassius Clay? ?If he wanted to be called Mohamed Ali, God dam it this is a free country, you should respect his wishes and call the man Mohamed Ali.? (or something like that)
  7. That's kinda what I was getting at. I do like the new bond films and the new batmans but I prefered the BANG! POW! lasers, latex and rockets business.

  13. True. The comedy henchman with the neck brace was good. I did like the villain. Dominic Green played a bit of a Gary Oldman style bad guy. I also liked the way the stupidly good looking girl tripped the henchman fella down the stairs.
  14. Are you ?aving a go?
  15. Don?t worry we know what you mean. As an aside though you have just highlighted the very reason why I am always so outspoken, fanatical even about civil liberties. It?s because I grew up in a country where they were restricted. Even when I was in primary school it pissed me off.

  17. (insert blushing thing as an apology for going off topic)
  18. Thank god for that! (insert winky thing to indicate I?m being frivolous (insert red gurning thing to indicate my mirth at my frivolousness(insert beer clinky thing to indicate that I?m a jolly chap and mean nothing by it(insert sunglasses thing to indicate how cool my poignant post makes me feel)))) (insert winky thing once more just in case I offended someone and because it sounds a bit rude) (insert grinning thing to indicate the hilarity of my joke)
  19. It?s for our protection Mockney. And remember, if you aren?t doing anything wrong you won?t have anything to fear.
  20. The human state of being is too ridiculous to be taken seriously. Playing on human emotion and sentiment is cheap and easy. Being truly fanciful, now that takes intelligence and creativity.
  21. Sorry I forgot other things I liked about it. Cheesy dialogue laced with cheap innuendo The disappearing car The kite surfing scene
  22. I saw it this weekend. It was a very good film. So was the Casino Royal for that matter. But neither of them are as good as Die Another Day. Let me explain why. Brooding, depressive bloke = Not particularly impressive. In fact you can probably find one in any given pub on any given night who will gladly bore you stupid with his tales of lost love and unfair consequence. The words, Boo fucking hoo, spring to mind. However Space mirror aimed at the earth to melt the polar icecaps = impressive Evil henchman with diamonds in his face = impressive Ice palace which explodes in the end = impressive Hali Berry (spelling?) in a bikini = impressive Aston Martin with red pointed rockets = impressive Comic book style cinematography = impressive Villain driven mad with obsession and world domination = impressive Car chase on ice = impressive Implausible gadgets = impressive The way James Bond manages to keep his suit clean through all this = impressive etc etc etc
  23. I had 5 but I smashed the electric blue crackle finish Jackson against the 10 cabinet Marshall stack this weekend. Unfortunately that?s one of the risks you run when you listen to Anthrax after 6 pints of Stella.
  24. Thanks PGC. I need to stock up for Christmas.
