  1. P13 around Bellenden is generally OK, I take it from time to time and use it for Sainsburys when I don't need to drive. It is also useful for getting to work via New Cross.
  2. Advertising board for pizzas on East Dulwich Road/signs for walls in Lordship lane bring howls of fury, whereas in Rye Lane/Peckham Rye it doesn't matter? After all it's only run down derelict old peckham. It does all sound a bit nimbyistic.
  3. Longer in my experience - at least an hour.

When I came home yesterday after a few days away I could also smell a chemical, solvent type smell - reminded me of airfix glue.We have just had our gas piping done down the street which finished before christmas. It's gone now, but was quite noticeable and I remembered reading this thread. this is Choumert Rd.
  5. oh god....woke up with mild sore throat and had indigestion (already got gastritis).....hope it's not this!

Well to be honest I wouldn't put too much credence on the words of an uninterested receptionist, but the sense I got was no permanent GPs.Maybe the Dr in question is permanent but so was Dr Bhatia as far as I understood. I've voted with my feet today and registered elsewhere - where the receptionist actually smiled at me and answered my questions. Oh and gave me a practice leaflet listing 5, yes 5! GPs.
  8. Just don't ask for a practice leaflet listing their services because apparently "we haven't got one". When I said I wanted it to know who the GPs were I was told there were no GPs!! Being able to get information about the practice is just a fundamental I would say. Going to another practice today to make arrangements. Actually going to MGMP now makes me anxious, as their responses have ben so rude and offhand recently that I feel angry before I even get there now. That's not health care!!!!!
  9. MGMP: Poor customer relations today from the receptionist I had to deal with - I mean, how hard is it to actually make eye contact and smile at someone. Then because of no appointments except "phone up and play doctor roulette" ones I agreed to a phone consultation. This was hurried and I was told that I couldn't ask all the things I wanted (all related to the same problem)and made to feel that effecively I was taking up too much time. And the request from the hospital for them to follow up with a specific test? Not one murmur of since Sept. Utterly hateful experience everytime. I've complained and complained but nothing ever changes. Once Christmas is over I'm off somewhere where they give a damn. even a little damn would be better than no damn at all.
  10. Half of Choumert Road has been non parking since october beacuse of the gas works but I have still been able to park in the road and usually within visual distance of my house, even right outside. It's been adjacent to the CPZ for as long as I can recall and I really don't find it a problem. It's typical London parking. I can't see why Danby would be any different really.
  11. So which is better - DMC Chadwick Road, Crystal palace road or Sternhall LAne. I'm not close enough to the Nunhead surgery (checked!) Anyone else in SE15/Bellenden rd Area got a good GP?? Cos I want out of melbourne Grove. I did join the PPG but even that is not very effective I feel.
  12. Oh not again! just as they get someone worthwhile they're off again. This might be the final straw.
  13. He's hilarious - I've heard him and the carriage was in stitches!!
  14. I always thought my road was tricky for parking, being right on the edge of a CPZ (entrance point visible from the front window...)and the first road outside it for the station, but reading all the posts on here I'm beginning to love the fact that I can always get at least a space somewhere in the street. Day time recycling of spaces happens but then I'm away with the car and by the evening all the lovely day trippers go home elsewhere and leave spaces again. Even with the gas works taking out half the road I've still parked in it every day.....bonus tonight when it was right outside the house!!! SE15 where the parking is easy/er!!(Until the man with his FOR SALE signs strikes again).
  15. Not sure what's more annoying though - that kind of lazy parking which disrupts the pattern of spaces, the "I'm leaving my car with a for sale sign outside your house for months" parking or the "I'm creating my own self defined CPZ with dustbins so you can't park at all" attitude. It's carmageddon out there.
  16. I noticed today that the fireworks in Battersea Park are charged at ?10 on the gate for 10 yrs and over, with a still whopping ?6 in advance. At least the Southwark ones are free wherever they are in the borough.
  17. My brown bin in Choumert Road still unemptied. We are 2 separate properties but look like one house so I guess they looked in my neighbours empty box and decided that was it. Mine was in the only space it can go behind the green bin!! Emailed, but no reply to date.
  18. Thanks - I was going to write to them re the same but just hadn't found the time. I am equally cross with the level of disruption. Not to mention the Kango drills this morning.
  19. Thanks. What with Gas works, commuting parkers and the guy who leaves his for sale cars in the street for months on end it's certainly getting harder to park in Choumert Rd.
  20. Agreed - the blue would suit my kitchen perfectly. Maybe some inventive work with sticky backed plastic is called for.

I emailed the council and this is the reply: The Brown garden waste bag system will not be effected Thank You Environment Services [email protected] 020 7525 2000 So I'm assuming they mean that and we can still get bags!
  22. Thanks - I hope I don't fall foul of a post code lottery here.
  23. Thanks, I will. And then my councillors to find out why I can't have one if there aren't any for Lane!!!
  24. So would anyone know how I find out if this is available for Lane ward? This makes it seem like all residents are equal but some are more equal than others - crime certainly isn't only apparent in SE22!!(Having been burgled last August)
