  1. How would this work. Would there be a way of manually writing the name of the owner? (or by a suitable printer). I have been thinking about something similar in a different context. I have thought of printing somthing out on a colour printer then laminating it. Easy on day one when you have a list of all members but more fiddly for one by one joiners.
  2. In a valiant attempt to avoid lounging, I will return the the theme of the CH. In the previous incarnation it was tenanted - the Landord ran the pub and paid Young's for the privilege. It is now managed - ie run by Young's who pay the manager to manage it.
  3. Ok - I have overcome my lethargy and have posted the picutres at http://www.flickr.com/gp/95486317@N00/LH8Ns9
  4. Under what circumstances are bounces are requirment (if I am understanding you correctly).
  5. The trouble si that the operator lounge is idempotent.
  6. Why Do Buses Come in Threes?: The Hidden Mathematics of Everyday Life by Robert Eastaway, Jeremy Wyndham - 1999 - 156 pages http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=JF8r8KJmXI4C&pg=PP1&ots=UGRQZEHRDl&dq=buses+come+eastaway&sig=vqcqIl-EFs9AQJE6vj6zZ2Pd8Ns
  7. The author lives / lived round here, and I knew him from a previous life. I once saw him at the bus stop and was about to say hello. But then 2 buses turned up and we got on differrent ones.
  8. Which takes you into zone 3. It is frustrating that you have to pay more to go this route. Out of the rush hour you can go ED -> London Bridge -> Farringdon but the Thameslink service doesnt go via LD during the rush hour.
  9. There are two music shops in the area - South London Music is at 54 Grove Vale, http://www.slmusic.co.uk/ - Dulwich Music Shop in Uplands Road. They were originally at that address, moved for a long time to W Dulwich but saw the error of their ways ;-) and returned to ED earlier this year. Was this the sort of shop your enquirer was thinking about ......

  12. But I think the whole point is that this sort of thing only applies to prepay and prepay doesnt work on National rail. I don't see how it can do - if you make one journey on Monday, does it know whetehr you are intending to travel all week, all month... My anoyance is at the TOC's tardy response to Prepay, not to shooting the messenger monyvibescu.

Whilst I think it not worth getting legalistic over 20 GBP, the company really ought to be making sure their staff don't give naff advice. Have you tried http://www.londontravelwatch.org.uk. The following looks similar to what happened to you

Mark Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > But yes, > keep it simple, I think perhaps 5 fields and then > one generic 'About Me' one I agree that you can get carried away with lots of fields, most of which people won't use. I would suggest - an about me (free format text) - text box for for misc links. For example I might put in Andrew's Flickr pictures http://www.morleychamberchoir.org.uk/ Choir I sing in The latter would cover most of the wierd and wonderful fields people want.
  16. THere is a beer festival from Fri 4 to Bank holiday Monday 7 http://www.hoopersbar.co.uk/events.html
  17. I was amused by the juxtopostion : Photos from the CPT meet Sponsored link - Relationship on the rocks? Contemplating Divorce? Call an expert. [name deleted] Solicitors There can't be any connection can there, what did people get up to at the CPT meet :-)

I refer the honourable gentleman (or lady) to the answer I gave earlier :-) Under the thread "Clock House Closed?" I suggested that once the CH reopened we should ought to test it out with a forum meet,
  19. http://www.clockhousepub.com/ says it is reopening on 3-May. Were you to sit on the bench in the back room on the left hand corner you would have realised why a refrub might be a good idea. The bench had a an undulation in it and you ended up sitting on hard bit of wood :( Perhaps we ought to test it out with a forum meet, but I would wait for a few weeks after the reopening.

  22. Perhaps various EDF related events should take place on different cycles of 8 days so that - no one is excluded from other events - people who have regular commitments elswhere (eg I have choir on most thurs) can come at least some of the time The astute reader will note my degree subject from a previous similar posting :-)

I used to be quite good at chess til I was about 18 (****). Then people said you are a mathematician so you must be good at chess. This raised the goalposts to the point where I decided not to risk being only mediocre at chess. So I stopped playing. **** clearly any evidence as to whether I was good at chess at 17 has been lost in the mists of time so I can make this statement without feer of repraisal.

I think they are implying that the would prefer the "do-gooders" actually do good rather than pay lip service or delude themselves that they are doing good. Not sure if do-badders should have one or two ds, but then I am dyslexic so I don't trust my judgement :-)
