Not sure I see the difference. I resent getting unsolicited calls (especially on my mobile). A 118800 operative asking me whether I want a call is just as much of an unsolicited call as a sales call.

Neither do most cafes in France, where I believe the word originates

This may not the the intention, but it is how the two sections come over to me - and judging by the comments this thread I am not the only one that thinks this way. I certainly think there is sufficient "silly" stuff on the lounge that serious (and in this case tragic) stuff looks out of place. I think there is scope for a section that is more serious than the lounge (and possibly even the "ED Gossip" section). Can't think of a name - maybe the debating chamber. I guess it is because it the first first on the list, and seems like the "default" to post to if things don't fit elsewhere.

Stupid

I wastn't that keen on the Lodge - didnt have much (or any) draft beer. I guess you could take a trip down to the EDT to get it, but it is a bit of an imposition if someone offers you a drink :-). Social wise it was nice.... Havent done the Gowlett recently (or have I forgotten).

There is a sign on the door saying they are shut on Saturdays until Sept. I think they are reliant on casual staff on Sats who are not available during the summer.

Trade

I think it would help if the permit to travel machine was always available. A few weeks back the ticket machine was not accepting any coins. I would have bought a PTT to show I was intendinf to pay.
