  1. These are brilliant! We used to get our videos from the vid shop on GG, until Blockbusters came along on the Walworth road. How the place has changed.
  2. No idea if this is the same dog - looked like a large Malamute. Yesterday in Peckham Rye he came bounding over to our dogs and started to jump all over my fiends older dog, who has severe arthritis. She asked the owner to call her dog off but the dog was intent on playing, so my friend had to pull the dog off and hand it back his owner. She could hardly handle the dog at all, there was no apology and she let it off minutes later and it ran off to do the same to another dog. He was most certainly young and playful rather than dangerous, but definitely not under control.
  3. Hi I can recommend Wagging Tails Dog Training - they have a facebook page. Classes in East Dulwich (near Sainsburys) and saturdays / Thursdays in South Norwood.
  4. If the stylist was that obviously "intoxicated" surely the other members of staff would have noticed, too. Agree with Sue - if it was that obvious, it was your responsibility to halt it.
  5. I'm glad I read this before getting him out again: He replaced sink taps for me in my previous property, and I found him inexpensive and efficient - no probs whatsoever. However, it was a very minor job...
  6. Hi all I have some spaces left for walks @ lunchtime - Crystal Palace / Sydenham / South Norwood and surrounding areas. Please PM me for any further details. Many thanks!
  7. Louisa for the first time, I actually agree with you. My next door neighbour has a huge driveway. Of which she has not partaken the whole of Xmas. Because I took her to task on this (because my aged mum couldn't park on my bday on 28th) she threatened to call old bill. I said don't be silly, girl- I just don't understand why you need 3 spaces: driveway, across driveway, and curbside. But she did! Massive sense of entitlement some rich people have.
  8. Yes. Dogs shit - end of! If we keep dogs, it's up to us to clear it away. I think there's been a spate of "cool dog" ownership. In particular Akitas and other wolf-Like doggies. Is there a programme on TV?
  9. Merry Christmass everyone wherever, and whoever you may be! X
  10. Ooh. How does that work? Is hoovering not enough?
  11. Couldn't agree more: sylvester road sorting staff are charming, smiley, cheerful always. Sadly this time of year brings out the worst in people. Yesterday evening there was a woman being incredibly rude and demanding to the staff at the tills in cop-op on FH rd. Totally unnecessary.
  12. Hardly an essay Louisa. Glad it ruffled your feathers, though.
  13. This is the second time you've mentioned carb-filled food, Louisa. Do you like pasta/sandwiches/crisps/chips/kebabs? No? That's ok then. Oh yes - you do like italian food, but only when it's from the 1980s, and therefore carb (and pretentious) free. You really are tedious, odious and snobbish. Your obsession with the 'guardianista' (whatever that actually means) is all of the above. I'm listening to Puccini as I write this but if I wrote it yesterday, I would have been listening to eminen - not cool, I know, but I don't give a shit. Does that make me pretentious, too? I read the times, sometimes the telegraph and sometimes even the guardian. not because that's me demographically but because it's what takes my fancy at the weekend. I hardly ever eat out because I'm single and on a very low income, but when I do, I bloody love really tasty food. Why shouldn't we? And please don't ever extol the virtues of that sweaty greasy manzes in peckham. If that's what you love? Fantastic - knock yourself out. Some of us enjoy new delicious styles of cooking - beautifully cooked and presented - once in a blue moon. Please stop using words like guardianista and pretentious - I'm pretty sure the EDF ers are far too over you to even be bothered, but it makes you look stupid and narrow minded.
  14. I know....enough about the effing curries / eating out every night already!
  15. It was awful. There is a reason these places close down...
  16. I can recommend turners on Barry road. They fixed my heater motor, but also changed the filter without asking me. The difference being, they offered to knock it off the bill if I didn't want it.
  17. Brilliant, thank you. Will definitely get a few quotes - any recommendations would be great...
  18. I have a side return and would like a quote for an extension to make the kitchen a little bit larger. Many thanks Siobhan
  19. Local (London) conveyancers are quite expensive. I left a message for a quote to glazer delmar 3 days ago - they still haven't got back to me. one on lordship lane quoted nearly 3k more than what I was quoted online. Shop around
