  1. So would you put a limitation of say 10 years, or 20 at a stretch, on the validity of winning the PL for qualification to CL? This is getting quite Platini-esque.
  2. Not sure how you can be in favour of a CL format that allows for the majority of qualifying teams to be non-champions and then say it would be bad for one of them to win it. Maybe there should be a UEFA vetting panel at the semi-final stage. "So, when exactly were you last champions?" "Oh."

  4. Shocked to hear of the death of Dean Richards at the tragically young age of 36. Dean Richards
  5. Why thank you ????. All support welcome.
  6. Great interview just on R5 with on of our heroes from when we last lifted the League Cup (1963). Bertie Auld, remininscing about his football south and north of the border. Worth catching on iPlayer later.
  7. Bring back terracing!
  8. EC - glad that you acknowledge that your opponents on Sunday are a decent team! No hurry for RvP, Theo or Fabregas to get fully fir - wouldn't want them missing a trip to the Camp Nou (and your reserves are probably good enough anyway).
  9. Was about to say that three points for Spurs eminently achievable given Blackpool's current form. And then Bassong steps in.

    Marrakech

And be prepared that you will be approached as soon as you leave your hotel (but that's all part of the experience and I really do like the rug I ended up buying). If buying, look through guides that will give an indication of prices before you go.

    Marrakech

Three days is a reasonable time just in Marrakech. I found this articale useful for restaurants - can't say how up to date it is now: Marrakech Restaurants I enjoyed the food and ambience at Al Fassia in Gueliz. And when you find yourself seeking a bit of tranquility, head for the Majorelle Gardens.
  12. Ridiculous to sublime by Carlton Cole. Two goals in two minutes. Only thing stopping Hammers reaching QF now is, er, the Hmmers.

  14. UEFA are charging a ?26 administration fee on Champions League final tickets. Makes TicketMaster look positively charitable (almost).
  15. I'm working my way through Cormac McCarthy, nearing the end of the Border Trilogy at present. And also have Brothers by Yu Hua on the go - really enjoying this one. Have just re-read Graham Greene's The Comedians - have a habit of reverting to his writings every so often.

    Hackney cabs

Given the further details, quite shocking, especially if you consider campaigns to ensure people use either a black cab or licensed minicab. Public Carriage Office transferred from the Met to TfL a couple of years back. This is available from their website - don't know if it helps at all. Taxi Driver Abstract of Laws

    Hackney cabs

I've not come across this myself (or heard of it before). TfL now have responsibilty for taxi licensing and setting tariffs, so presume they may be able to answer.

I posted on this originally because (maybe slightly naively) I was a bit surprised that they would base this part of the operation in London and the overall size of the operation - overheads on rent, rates and salary alone are of the order of ?3.5m (plus). Scary what goes on in the background of a football club.
  24. Man Utd Mayfair Office Man Utd's global commercial department is having to move to bigger offices at a rent of just under ?1m a year to accommodate their team of 45 employees!
  25. Er, thanks for sharing.
