Go to Granada and see the Alhambra. Don't leave Andalusia without visiting.

You can get a transfer to Malaga that's cheap and fast from Granada. Depending on what time of year, you could go skiing in the Sierra Nevada and then end the day down at the beach when you leave the mountains.

Granada, Cordoba and/or Seville. Further west Cadiz and Jerez are great too.

If you are planning on visiting the Alhambra, it is worth checking availability of tickets either on the Ticketmaster website - http://www.ticketmaster.es/en/tickets-family/alhambra-general/2/ - or with your hotel before you book your accommodation as tickets can sell out well in advance.

Second recommendations for Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Cadiz. There's a beach half way between Cadiz and Gibraltar, near Tarifa, called Bolonia, which is wide, sandy, clean and untouristed, with the bonuses of Roman ruins/museum (Baelo Claudia) directly behind it, a great chiringuito on the beach and even a few cows grazing nearby in lieu of a play farm. And you can see Africa, obvs.

    • The current crimes from what I hear are phone theft from the person, car theft and tradesman vehicle/tools theft. Plus of course the overall increase in stabbings and shootings across London which are becoming normalised.
    • Whilst clearly 'a crime', I don't think this necessarily sits with the other things you have described. A tragic and awful incident certainly, and dreadfully traumatic to the victim, but not part of any 'crime wave' as such, I suspect. It's the sort of thing which, sadly, can happen anywhere (I, again, suspect).
    • Does anybody have a folding pasting table they no longer need? All the ones I've found online seem to have terrible reviews, mainly due to being unstable,  or else coming apart! I don't mind if it's grubby, I just want it to gesso wallpaper lining paper, for art not walls!
    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.
